Help please? My Bachon Frise bites at her paws and we don’t know how to stop it?
She has a dog cone on now, because she will bite and lick at the tops of her front two paws until they bleed and swell up. We asked the vet, and he said that she probably has allergies, so we bought her some hypo-allergenic food and dog treats, as well as some topical medication to put on her paws and sensitive skin dog shampoo. We have been doing this for the past six weeks and have seen no improvement. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, how did you solve the problem? We have tried covering them with bandages but she always ripped them off. Thanks in advance!

It may be grass seeds stuck between her fingers!
If she is full grown, you can try giving her one benadryl. My aunt has a bichon and when her skin is pinker than usual (which is because she has allergies), she gives her one and it helps. But my biggest recommendation would be to try a different vet. Or even a vet hospital.
My little Min Pin does the same thing when her nails get too long.If your dog has been out in snowy slush rinse the salty slush out from between her toes. This chemical solution burns and irritates dogs.
“We asked the vet, and he said that she probably has allergies,”
Did the vet examine her – did he test her? I can’t believe that a vet would let your dog continue to bite her feet to the point of bleeding for 6 weeks or more and not do any sort of allergy testing on the dog. If that is the case, it’s time to find a new vet. Your poor dog must be miserable.
I think she really needs to go to the vets again, maybe see a specialist.
