I have 2 dogs a boston terrier and a pug. Both are losing hair and biting their butts. Is this flea allergies or what? Taking them to the vet soon, just need to find out what this is! how do you get rid of it?

If the hair loss is seen on both dogs and focused on the rump I think its safe to say its likely flea allergy dermatitis or FAD.For an animal with FAD all it takes is one flea bite to trigger a severe allergy response. That is why it is so important that your pets are maintained on year round flea prevention.Frontline,Advantage Multi,Advantix,Revolution are suitable.FAD causes significant discomfort but it is easily managed with the use of prevention.Schedule an exam fo both dogs as they likely will need treatment to curb puritis or itchiness. The sooner you do the soone they will be comfortable again!Good luck
It could be flea bites. I had a dog that was allergic to flea bites. We did not guess though – that is what the vet is for. He gave us special shampoo that we used at least once a week and a spray that we had to use around the house everywhere the dog liked to lay. We had to limit her time in the yard so she did not pick up more fleas and we changed her flea collar more often than recommended. It was a bit of a hassle but if you care for your dog it is worth it. Good luck.
Your vet will be able to tell you, and prescribe something.
Also your dogs need to be on flea spot on prevention every 4 weeks a drop on the neck and that is it.
