Is It Just Me, Or Does It Seem Like There Are A Lot Of Dogs With Food Allergies?

I keep seeing people asking about their itchy dog or their dog who who has the runs. Most of these haven’t considered an allergy. It seems also that a number of vet miss this possibility. Am I just sensitive because I have one?

It’s common because a lot of people are feeding low quality dog foods that have common allergens like corn and wheat in them. That’s not to say that some dogs aren’t allergic to some things in the higher quality dog foods as well, but corn and wheat are two very common allergens in low quality dog foods and are often the culprit.
I have learnt by my mistakes. My present dog had dreadful problems because of the food which I gave her, I experimented with dog food, I tried raw diets, cooked diets and over the years I tried various dog foods. She did not like the raw diets and the dog food that I gave her resulted in diarrhoea. As an experienced dog owner I introduced any changes gradually. Nevertheless my dog still had problems. She was eight years old before I resolved her problem.
Eventually, because of my researches on the Internet I found that the experts have discovered that GRAIN in our dog’s diet causes many problems. I now know that grain creates acidity in the blood. This causes skin problems, digestive issues, allergies, sickness, diarrhoea, anal gland problems etc.,
if your dog has skin problems or any of the above problems PLEASE CHANGE THE DIET. Avoid Grain, rice, beef derivatives and dairy food
I now give my dog a dried food which uses beet for fibre and fish. It’s called Fish4Dogs and I buy it on the Internet. Look on the Internet and investigate yourself. Gluten free dog food is not enough to help our dogs, it MUST BE GRAIN FREE.
A rapid change of diet will upset your dog; any change of diet must be done gradually. Do please change to a grain free diet. I have had sixteen dogs throughout the years and they have had various problems. Perhaps if I had known about the dangers of GRAIN they would have had fewer problems. .
u are right there are lots of itchy allergic dogs and i have one but his is not to food but the wet grass and weeds along with air pollentents that make him get welts and sores that drive him and me nuts until we calm his skin down and keep him in on wet humid days.it starts every spring and lasts all summer until it gets cool and dry then he is fine all winter and we start the routine again in the spring. i think all the junk that is mixed in dog foods cause a lot too since u never know what chemicals and preservities are added..
no it’s not just you! i see alot of dogs with allergies. and it annoyes me that the people continue to do nothing about it. like for example-itchy skin. take them to the vet, get a supplement, vitamin, something!!!!! they just smile and say “yeah he is always like that.” and laugh.
yep.. its because of the poor quality foods with low-grade ingredients, fillers and preservatives.
There’s alot of people with food allergies anymore too.. I believe its all related to the poor diets (fast food, candy, junk food, etc).
