What Are Some Good Chews For A Dog With Allergies?
Posted by: Alan in Food Allergies In Dogs, tags: Allergies, Chews, Good, Some, What, With
I have a Springer Spaniel who has food allergies. He can’t have anything with wheat, corn, or beef. That rules out rawhide, most bones, nylabone edibles, cow ears, bully sticks, and lots of other great stuff. We’ve tried pig ears and pig skin chips. The pig chips last about 5 minutes, and the ears last about 30 seconds. He’s such a heavy chewer. What can I give him that he won’t be allergic to that will last?

Nyla bones last forever but I have a hard time keeping my dog interested in it (he has food allergies, too.) Try a kong filled with baby carrots. My dog LOVES himself some carrots and they’re free of allergens. Good luck!

Ask the vet, or the store that you buy food from. Or give him normal, hard, dog food. Wait, does that have wheat in it? If it does then get some that don’t.

Rope Toys or a Kong – you can stuff treats or peanut butter in the kong…

I like the personality of a springer spaniel. They are so sweet.
