There are many natural flea fighting items.
Cedar
Dawn lemon scented dish soap, (make a spritz)
Tea Treel Oil,
Diatomaceous Earth (GREAT STUFF) make sure you get human grade, not pool grade,
Add garlic to diet
Borax sprinkled around house (Lightly then vaccum up)
Lemongrass, citronella and Lavendar essential oils,
Eucalyptus leaves
Yeast sprinkled on coat.
GOOD LUCK!

You should probably get ahold of the vet, because it may or may not be an allergic reaction to the medication. It could also be that she is severely allergic to the flea bites since she is so covered with them. Definitely talk to your vet and try to verify where the allergy is coming from and the vet will be able to help you with options to get those buggers off your little sweetie.
Add: Then if that is the case, do what the vet told you, but also comb her with a flea comb daily.
Good luck!
Bath in Dawn dish soap. Start at the neck and work back. Do it the other way and the fleas will run to the neck and you won’t be able to get them. Use the regular kind. not with bleach etc. This is what we do at our shelter. It’s harmless to the dog and kills the fleas. It won’t work on the eggs so keep combing with a flea comb and repeat the bath as needed. Try not to do the bath too often though or it will dry out the skin.
I have to use Sentinal for my dogs as one has terrible reactions to the liquids. Sentinal is a pill taken once a month.
Bathe her in Dawn dish washing detergent. It will kill the fleas that are on her. You will have to treat your yard & house to get rid of the fleas so she doesn’t pick them up again. Ask your Vet what you can use to do this cause it will be everywhere she goes.
They say for each one you see there are 500 hiding somewhere. So if they are in the house they can & will reattach to her & you for that matter.
diatomatious earth, I have heard works ok
(sorry if that’s mispelled, I’m feeling too lazy to look it up)
Also, I use pepermint oil mixed with water to help keep horse flys off my dogs sometimes. Not sure that will totally do the job, but it may help. Talk to some knowledgable people at a health foods type store.
Hi,first you need to take her to a vet.My dog started off with a flea allergy now she is allergic to glutton. At the moment we are trying to find out what is causing her to lose her fur.its a worry.Good Luck with your girl.
Try washing her with Dawn dishwashing soap. My Pug has sensitive skin and that’s what I used on him when he had a few fleas. The fleas will come up to the surface of the fur and die. Good Luck!
Have the vet do whats called a flea dip, then keep the dog on a once a month preventive medication called Sentinel to prevent any future fleas
I would recommend calling a Vet and asking their expertise instead of people on the internet. They could make it worse!
you could get her a flea collar
good luck!
Since she has so many fleas, ask your Vet about using Capstar and if that is possible for her considering her sensitivity to whatever product you are using.
Some over the counter products are pure pesticide and are harsher on dogs than Frontline Plus or Advantix. That’s another thing to consider.
If your Vet says not to use Capstar, then try bathing your dog in Johnson’s baby shampoo. Lather and let it stay for a few minutes, starting to lather around anal area and then around ears, mouth and near eyes and nose. (areas fleas scramble for to get away from anything put on a dog).
Rinse thoroughly and comb thru your dog with a flea comb, being careful not to scratch his skin with the tines.
Your Vet may recommend a moisturinzing prescription shampoo that also treats the skin condition. That would be best.
A Vet visit could certainly clarify the cause of the skin reaction and what other product may safely help with the flea problem. Hope you can get this solved soon.
Fleas usually cause more skin irriation/reaction than anything.
She likely has tapeworms, too if she has so many fleas since they are the vectors.
So you might want to get her treated for that as well.
