My Dog…..could This Be Allergies??
Posted by: Alan in Flea Allergies In Dogs, tags: Allergies, Dog.....could, This
My dog is scratching alot at her face and her neck and I am wondering if this could be allergies? If it is could it be the food? Every since we started her on this food she is on now she has been trying to bite (could be play biting…….she is wanting to bite) and I’ve noticed more of the itching. She has been checked for fleas and worms and negative there. Any opinons?

Well it could be food allergies or it could be envirnomental like pollen, grass, dust, ext…
First of all if it is food allergies you want to get a hypoallergenic diet like lamb and rice or duck and potato. If she is picking go to the pet food shop and ask what kind they have I have seen kangeroo.
If they are allegies to grass, pollens or anything else you will need to keep her feet washed when she comes in from outside, keep the allergens off her fur and skin. Try wiping her down with a baby wipe or wet wash cloth. You can get bendryl sprays to spray on her where she is itching or there is a good spray called relieft at the vet’s office. They also make shampoo’s for itchy skin, try an oatmeat shampoo or aloe. Becareful not to bath her to much as it takes the moisture out of the skin and causes dryness which can result in more itching.
Good luck

Could be the food.

She could be allergic to the food. Siwtch to a lamb and rice food and watch her for about a week to see if the scratching and biting stop. If the symptoms go away, then don’t use that food any more.

would have helped if you would have told us what food you are feeding now but yes definately food could be causing it. Anything from the grocery store or WM is garbage.
Just switching to lamb & rice doesn’t help if it still has all the other crap in it. A for sure don’t use anything Purina!
