well first i would try changing his food but this may not be his problem dogs like people can have allergies to many different things i would take your dog to the vet the vet can diagnose the problem and give you medication so the poor dog isnt scratching himself all the time

Hi!
As long as you have your dog on flea prevention like Frontline Plus and they don’t have fleas it is most likely allergies. I would switch food. Dogs can have allergies from anything from colors too corn and wheat. If this doesn’t help take him to the vet and they can give you soothing shampoo/conditioner for allergies, some Benedryl, and if you want they can check what the specific allergy is and order your dog allergy shots…..

He sounds like he is having some kinda of allergies. I could be his food. When I was researching dog food. I went to Lemo’s and asked them about whats the best food form my dog, one of the things they asked is, does have dry skin. They told dogs can be allergic to some dog food. He could also just have try skin. My German shepherd has dry skin and she itches allot, to the point she gets sore.

i would say its probably seasonal allergies, you can take him to the vet for a few blood tests and stuff but they’ll probably just prescribe the dog something (can’t remember the medicines name.) if i were you i’d also take them off nutro and switch them to something healthier and more convenient/cheap… like blue buffalo brand or eagle pack.

THAT’S WHAT MY CHIUHAHUA DOES! I took her to the vet and they said she doesn’t have fleas or anything. and she only eats human food or cat food when she really hungry and has no food, but that’s when we give her food. Yea I don’t know whats wrong!

that could just mean that he has a rash or dry skin. try some lotion for dry skin and a bath with shampoo for dry skin.
