Sorry, if this is long. :S You don’t have to read all of it if you don’t want to.
Hey ya’ll. I have a 5 month Great Dane/Bullmastiff and I was thinking about switching her flea medicine to Comfortis. She has a small case of Flea Allergy Dermatitis and I have heard that this flea pill helps with this problem. Most of the reviews I have read on this particular medicine have been really good and supportive of the medicine. I have tried Frontline Plus and Advantage Multi and they did not work as well as I would have liked them too. The Advantage worked a little bit better, but she still had that constant itch and bald spots. I am taking her to the vet Saturday and will ask what he thinks, but I just wanted to get ya’lls opinion. So what do ya’ll think about this medicine?
Here is something I got from their website..
Comfortis™ is the first FDA-approved, chewable, beef-flavored tablet that kills fleas and prevents flea infestations on dogs for a full month.
Here are just a few of the features that set Comfortis™ apart from other flea products you may have used in the past:
-Beef-flavored, palatable, chewable tablet
-Easy to give with no mess
-Starts to kill fleas in 30 minutes
-Lasts a full month
-Kills fleas before they can lay eggs
-Approved by the FDA
-Demonstrated safe for dogs and puppies 14 weeks and older
-Spinosad, the active ingredient, is environmentally friendly
-With Comfortis™, you can play with your dog immediately after treatment.
-No need to isolate pets.
-Just treat and play.
-Because Comfortis™ is administered orally, there’s no risk of application site reactions.
-Comfortis™ won’t stain carpeting, upholstery or clothing.
-Comfortis™ can’t be rubbed or shaken off.
On viewpoints.com:
Comfortis has a rating of: 4.58 out of 5. Most of the reviewers being from FL, which is where I am from.
Frontline Plus has a rating of: 4.16 out of 5.
Advantage Multi has a rating of: 4.5 out of 5.
So all in all I guess they are about the same, but I just wanted to know your thoughts!(:
Thanks.. if you need any more information or something like that let me know!(:
