4 Dogs Excessive Itching!?

My two shiba inus, my friends dog, and my moms dog, who have all been together for over a week have all just started itching. All of them have been treated for fleas and have had flea baths, no signs of fleas, is there anything else that it may be? The vet guessed Allergies, but is it common for all 4 of them to have it?

It could be some other type of skin issue. Were they in a new area? I had an itchy dog once that was allergic to grass. I’ve also had a dog with a fungal infection and she licked herself a lot. If they had a bath, perhaps the ingredients in the shampoo was irritating. They could also have ticks. They could be allergic to some other environmental toxin in the home — air fresheners, carpet cleaning soap, laundry detergent for the blanket they sleep on, food, garbage, etc. I hope you’ll post the cause if you find out.
yes they could all have an itchy allergy but more likely it may be their doggie shampoo could this be the problem? It also may be that the fleas are now microscopic– I havent actually seen even one flea this whole Summer! In my area I think we’ve actually killed off the bigger, black strain with anti flea chemical products after all–bats have become extinct due to pestisides we use to protect crops. Anyway, what’s more agonizing than an itch you cannot reach to scratch? Help them and scratch their itches gently–Never scratch a scab, use your clean fingertips vigorously or your fingernails but LIGHTLY cause chances are if they’ve been scratching there could be broken skin and youll make it worse. also you can get a brush with plyable bristles. In closing I’ve always said that the first thing I’m going to ask God if I see him is —– God, why did you make dogs so itchy? Ive told people that 4 years…
if its dry where you live it could simply be dry skin from the dry air you cant always find fleas they can be tricky or it could be the flea shampoo. some dogs get a skin condition as well that causes itching. try a shampoo that moisturizes see if that helps them
Mosquito’s maybe? My dogs started itching wicked bad because they had bites. It could be an allergy. Perhaps they got into some sort of poisonous plant? Check their skin in the areas they itch most. Maybe you can find the culprit that way? Good luck!
maybe like a rash or dry skin.
bathe them in oatmel shampoo for skin.
and they have a healthy skin and coat vitimin that you put in the food.
my dog scratches alot. its her skin though.
so try stuff for dry skin and such.
They may have been exposed to something at least a week ago. Talk to the vet and don’t immediately go for meds. Check with holistic vet.
they might have a allergic reaction to something
What are you feeding them? Are they all being fed the same thing?
If so it is possible they have allergies to their food.
If you are feeding any of the low quality foods look into changing into a grain free formula or homemade raw diet.
Avoid anything with corn, soy, wheat, by-products, colors, Menadione Sodium Bisulfate(Source of Vitamin K Activity), chemical preservatives.
Look for a food that has a specified meat source as its first ingredient. It is better if the second ingredient is also a meat. (Artemis is a great food to compare other foods with grains in them if you dont know what to look for)
Avoid too many grains.

Anything found in a grocery store or recommended by your vet.
Vets only recommend foods that give them kickbacks and if you notice, all of those foods are on the avoid/low quality list.
With richer foods, you have to feed less. If your pup starts having loose stool, try lowering the food and mixing in plain mashed pumpkin(not the pie filling).
Dogs are supposed to have meat, bones, and organs, preferably fresh, wholesome, and unprocessed. This is why many feed a homemade raw diet.

A raw diet is typically cheaper than kibble worth buying.
For a dog fed raw, it is typically 2 to 3 percent of the dogs ideal body weight. If the dog is a pup(under 18 months for most dogs) it can be around 10% of the dogs body weight. Most raw feeders start at one percentage and adjust it as needed.
