My Dog Won’t Stop Scratching But Has No Fleas…?

She has pretty bad allergies but it just seems to be getting worse. I have oatmeal shampoo for her I haven’t noticed if it makes her not itch so much and I’m worried about bathing her too often as I heard it dries their skin. I gave her a bath about three weeks ago would it be safe to wash her again?

Probably dry skin. Put a little veggie oil in her food, will help out dry skin. Ease up on washing with shampoo, rinse her with water & dry her really good with a towel. The veggie oil & towel rub downs will make her coat nice & glossy. My guys loved the towel rub downs. I would rub them dry, once a day. They really loved it.
Sorry to hear your dog has problems.
I’m assuming that the oatmeal shampoo is specially formulated for dogs and not humans as shampoo meant for humans can cause all kinds of skin complaints if used on dogs.
It’s relatively safe to bath your dog every 3-4 weeks or so but it’s very important that all of the soap is rinsed out of her coat. When you think you’ve rinsed it thoroughly, rinse it one last time, just to be certain.
Your dog may have an allergic reaction to something that she eats – have you changed her diet recently?
She may have developed an allergy to grass seeds or pollen.
Whatever the cause, allergies can sometimes be difficult to diagnose – you may spend an awful long time trying to diagnose it.
I’d recommend you consult your vet who will advise you on the best course of action.
Good luck.
What are you feeding her? Dogs can develop food allergies to foods they have been eating for a long time. If you are feeding a dog food with wheat, corn, soy, or certain meats your dog could be having a reaction to that. You don’t want to give your dog a bath to often as it can just make the problem worse.
Good dog foods that don’t use corn, wheat, soy, or by-products:

Avoid foods like:
Purina

Eukanuba
Pedigree
Science Diet
Bil-Jac
Eagle Pack
Nutro
Royal Canin
And anything else that uses by-products
Try giving her a half a benadryl. Make sure it’s plain benadryl not benadryl plus or some other kind of allergy relief.
Some other meds can be poisonous to dogs.
Make sure it has Diphenydramine hydrochloride. Nothing else.
Generic benadryl works fine and it’s cheap.
Give my dog half each day, no scratching, licking or runny eyes.
well you dont want to wash your dog too much or else you could damage thier fur and its proably dry skin, you can get special dog foods that help with dry skin.
don’t bath ur dog frequently it looses its oil
give omega3 &6 supp
and apply moisturiser(for human skin will also do)
dry skin…maybe add some soothing doggie conditioner towards the end of her bath. make sure all the soap is off too
