When it comes to keeping your dog healthy, the most important first step is the right attitude. A healthy pet requires more than a yearly visit to the vet for shots and a checkup. Heath, as with humans, depends on some basic building blocks.http://tinyurl.com/5bmtno

Hi,
I have rescued two Border Collie puppies (not at the same time) and they both had a very serious skin condition, itching all the time. I immediately put them on the BARF diet (raw meat and veggies) plus I give them oil every day. I started with about 6 table spoons of oil per day for about a month. Then I started to reduce the oil. The one dog is now 4 years old and the other 1 year. Their condition changed dramatically within a few weeks. They still get their raw food and their oil and they have lovely shiny coats - no itching.

It could be food, or it could be environmental allergies - and yes, allergies can get that bad that quick.
If this were my dog? I agree with the other poster - I would try a raw or BARF diet. That way, you have complete control over what the dog eats, and can rule out food allergies that way.
Please contact me if you want to learn more, as a raw diet is not something you should just start doing without some research and knowledge.
Good luck.
