Can the NAVY kick you out because of food allergies?

My husband is a Petty Officer in the Navy and we just found out he’s allergic to nuts, celery, dogs, carrots, and mold. The doctor on ship said that he can no longer eat on ship because of his allergies and that they would have to pay him to eat off ship, but if they ever deploy he cannot eat on ship for months.
Could they kick him out for having food allergies?
Or do you think they’ll put him on shore command?

Yes the can “kick him out” as you say, it would be considered a medical discharge.
I would have to say he is working his way towards the land of civilian people. I once had a soldier in Germany who believe it or not became allergic to trees and dirt. They sent her to Ft. Hood which apparently was the area that was less in trees and more sand than dirt, then back home to the land of civilian where I am sure she was miraculously cured since she did not have to go to the field anymore. If you cannot eat on a ship in the Navy then what good are you doing the Navy? It is a bit of an odd analogy but if you can’t perform your job where it is kind of required then you’re doing no one any good and they are not going to keep him on shore duty until he retires because of food allergies as there are many many folks waiting in line to get in that can deploy on a ship and handle eating out there at the same time. Medical board bound I am sure.
most likely scenario is he will be sent to a shore command to finish out his enlistment but NOT allowed to re enlist .
It’s easy to avoid Dogs, carrots and celery while underway. NOT so easy to avoid mold or Nuts.
