Question by Poodles4ever: Had to take all the chew bones away….gave the kong…fun ideas for the kong please (no peanut butter)?
fun Ideas for the kong….no peanut butter
As you probably know Sasha has had a bit of skin irratation on her muzzle…..we discovered the cause last night…..its the way she holds her chew bones….They always rub up against that spot. So atleast until she is healed up she can’t have a bone to chew (whether it be a bone or a chew)
We basically filled up a kong with Ice cubes last night and that has given her lots to do….(there is nothing she loves more than ice) and I think the cold from the ice also helped her irratation because this morning its looking a little better….
It looks like the Kong is going to have to be her toy of choice (atleast for a while) what other fun ideas do you have for the kong….
They can’t include Peanut butter….(we don’t bring it in the house due to my severe allergies)
We heard fat free plain yougurt is okay to put in there and freeze with some kibble….
She is a dog that has to be kept occupied when we can’t give her our complete attention……
Bones were kind of her pacifier……but when paci starts to hurt you paci goes bye bye…..or so we told her.
Thanks she is a chewer and loves to chew but we noticed she doesn’t chew on the rubber toys or much less touch them….honestly her first interest in the Kong was last night with the ice in it and we used to stick treats in it (and back then she could care less)

You can try to buy Pea butter at a health food store. It’s made from peas, not peanuts, but taste very similar. There are other nut butters as well you can try.
What do you think? Answer below!

unfortunately im allergic to cats ( i dont know if its to their hair or saliva im thinking that its more to their hair cause whenever i go visit my friend i always get like red patches on my skin and my eyes start irritating me even if the cat is not their for example if im sitting on the couch and the hair is there )she has 2 4 month old kittens a stray cat gave birth to those kittens on her backyard
i had a black persian cat onlt for like few week ,my parents had to sign him over to the SPCA
is there any way to cure the allergy ??? i m thinking about going to college for veterinary technology and i know that there will be lots of cats and cat hair there
so back to the question i really like sphinx cats i think that its mostly looks they look so cute and i read that they are a high maintenance cat due to the lack of fur.hair just like some of the hairless dogs like Chinese crested or Mexican hairless
also i like the cat that is in the harry potter films not the orange persian but the big hairy one

Question by raidergirl1965: Golden retriever losing hair on his back and tail?
We have an 8 year old Golden that has lost hair on his back and tail and gets goopy eyes. We have tried frontline, advantage, and advantix. He has been to 4 different vets over the last 2 years and nothing they prescribe has helped him he has been given eye ointment, eye drops, several different prescriptions nothing seems to work for him. He is a wonderful dog very well behaved and loving. We just feel sorry for him because he always seems to be itchy and biting at himself. We have gotten “bitter tasting spray” to spray on him but when that wears off he is right back at it. He gets an oatmeal bath once a month (we were told bathing him too much will take away the oils in his skin) We give him benidryl but after a few days that doesn’t seem to help him much either. Please any sugestions out there are welcome. We love him and do not want him suffering. We have spent a few thousand dollars trying to help him and would be happy to spend more if it will help him. They just keep telling us he has very bad allergies.
Shelby: he has been to 4 different vets in the last 2 years. We have tried every food that has been recomended to us by vets and pet food stores including all natural and organic foods.
All the vets we have been to have private practice small vets. I would not take my pet to the large chain. He has had injections they lasted maybe a day or 2.
Father of 2: thank you. I’m going to start trying olive oil tomorrow. He has already eaten tonight or I would start now.
Freezin: I’m going to start looking for that shampoo tomorrow thanks.
Jimbs: What do I do with the liserene? feed it to him or put it on his fur?

Question by Biscuits and Groovy: Do lifestyle pets actually work?
My mom, dad and I have slight allergies to cats (except my dad’s is pretty strong) but I love animals and find it quite hard to live with only fish (which I love but I’ve always wanted a dog or cat). I’ve done my research on them and know how to care for them. I’ve babysat my grandma’s cat for a month with no problems and would love to have a cat of my own. I found a website (http://www.allerca.com/index.html) that sells the worlds first truly hypoallergenic cat. They were specially bred not to have allergens in their saliva, skin or fur. They were bred from regular cats and seem to work fine. Their website says they have had no cases of someone being allergic to one of their animals. I’ve seen them featured in magazines with all good ratings. Does anyone have any experience with these pets and does anyone have any suggestions?
1. I actually did recently try to have a dog (she was 3/4 bichon frise and 1/4 poodle) and she was very allergic to her.
2. I am also not too wild about the wild cat but I want the smaller cat that came from a domestic shorthair with no wild parts. I like this and it is what I’m interested in getting.

Interesting. My mother-in-law has two “hypoallergenic” dogs (bichon frisse), but I still sneeze and cough when I’m around them.
While a hypoallergenic cat sounds amazing (and probably wouldn’t shed), there are some “unknowns”. Any “new” breed of animal is just that– new. No one knows how long they’ll live or if there is some genetic disease they’re more prone to get. So it’s really a whole lot of money for some trial and error. And I personally find it inhumane that people have cross bred wild cats (I think they said they used tigers) with some funky hypoallergenic cat to create the world’s first hypoallergenic, wild cat. Any breed that is cross-bred with wild has a good chance of having a lot of the wild cat’s personality traits. They’re usually more aggressive, more vocal, harder to train, larger, they bite more, and they’re more stubborn. Many of them end up biting someone and being put to sleep at the pound. And how many of the kittens born during this “experiment” were put to sleep b/c they were deformed or something b/c they didn’t have the science perfected yet?
Case and point: I wouldn’t spend that much money for a cat in the first place, especially when it’s one that relatively little is known about.

Question by Anon.: Any idea of what these weird bumps on my face are?
So for the last two days, I have randomly had these tiny bumps all over my face and on the bottom of my ears/behind my ears. I have never had a breakout before, so I don’t know if it’s that. But they are mainly on one side of my face, and are tiny bumps that aren’t visible unless you look up close. When I feel my skin, you can feel them and it almost feels like dry skin (but it’s not). I haven’t been rummaging around in the forest, but I have a cat and dogs that do, so I don’t know if I could have gotten poison ivy from them or something. Could it be random allergy to something, poison ivy, or a breakout? Any ideas of what this could be. It doesn’t really itch or anything, but it just bothers me knowing i have weird bumps on my face.
I wash my face every day and usually don’t have pimples or anything (though don’t get me wrong, my skin isn’t crystal clear).

It’s probably just some form of acne. If it doesn’t go away in about a week then you should see a doctor.
