My cat recently got flees. We tried to take in one pf my parents dogs which did notwork out but she left behind the miserable critters. I sprayed my cat a few times with flea spray. when this did not work I gave her a bath with dawn dish soap. Recommended by a freind who happens to be a vet. She has developed open sores all around her head and neck and digs and licks constantly. Her hair has fallen out in the worst spots. I started last night applying childrens benedryl cream to the wounds as well as bactracin. I am not sure if it is helping at this point. She is acting lethargic and her tongue seemed pale this morning. I am wondering if there is anyhting I can do for her at home because a vet trip is going to cost more than i can afford right now. Don’t get mewrong, my cat is my life and if need be i will get the money, I am just trying to find a simpler answer. should i try bathingher again? is it safe to add frontline while she has the open wounds? is this fleas?

My dog started having diarrhea yesterday, and it continuous today.
I give him plenty of cold water to drink so he wont get dehydrated, its very hot outside this summer (he is inside a cooled house,not an outside dog). He is a year old.
His vet prescribed him steroids for his flea allergy, plus, she told me to continue with Benadryl for another week.
His appetite is fine, he is playful. The fecal matter is dark yellow, almost brown, just like his normal stool.
Is it normal or should i contact his vet?

I have a mastiff/rottweiler mix and she is going on 3. For some reason this summer I have noticed her scratching and biting a lot..I do not see ANY signs of fleas what so ever and I also have 2 others in the house that have no signs of itching. I give her benadryl daily and this doesnt seem to help..I plan on calling the vet but thought I would ask all you pet lovers first..Any ideas?

He has had 3 doses of frontline in as many months. I think he may have a flea allergy. How can i treat him with out expensive vet bills. I also have a cat which may be the cause. Help !

My dog has flea allergy dermatitis. I know from my vet I can use benadryl on her..She IS ON flea meds from vet. to keep fleas at bay..but it is that time of year and I got a neighbor who has 4 dirty flea filled dogs..So some fleas are bound to get on my Reese..ONe or two fleas get on her and it becomes bumps galore. Since she is a boxer and has short hair it shows bad..What remedies(topical) can I use on her to ease the bumps? ANy products you guys have used on your dogs that have worked well for you? I have tried cool baths, oatmeal dog shampoo and benadryl..anything else?
