My puppy had been on advantix since she was old enough to be on it. We started having problems 2 months ago, she was very itchy and had bumps all over her. We went to the vet immediately and they said she had a flea allergy and found live fleas on her. the vet treated her twice that month with her flea medicine. The advantix and then 2 weeks later frontline. We had our condo flea treated and the carpet professionally cleaned. We stopped sending her to daycare for the time being to control the problem. We have no other dogs. She STILL had fleas. We had the house retreated and went back to the vet. Bella was put on antibiotics for her soars and prednisone for the allergy. they said to treat her every 3 weeks witht he frontline. The vet prescribed a chemical to treat the house with and we have. SHE STILL HAS FLEAS!!!! I feel so bad I don;t know what to do.

We went out of town last week and left our golden retriever with a friend who has two other dogs. He has been on Frontline for two years and has had the same food for almost three. Two years ago we found out that he had flea allergies, but since then everything has been fine. Both of the dogs he was staying with are on Frontline and their owner reports no fleas anywhere. I haven’t found any here at my place either.
Here’s the problem, he came back itching a lot, but nothing too bad at first. Then one day we woke up and he had itched his whole belly raw to the point that it was bleeding. We took him to the vet because it was time for new shots anyway. $350 later he is still itching. The vet recommended Benadryl, and we have been giving him 50mg three times a day, we also keep the raw area on his stomach covered. But now he is not eating, he is throwing up, he doesn’t poop, and everytime he goes outside he eats grass like a lawn mower. What is wrong with him?

I have a Shar Pei that stinks and has hair problems. The stink I know everyone is going to tell me is normal for a dog. He has a flea allergy and if 1 flea bites him he looses all his fur. He will chew himself up unitl he bleeds! I give him Advantage 2 times a month and would like to know aside from the fleas, what could I use as a shampoo that would help with the loss of his hair as well as the odor? He stinks 20 minutes after a bath! He is an indoor dog, and would die if I put him outside, however the odor is almost becoming unbearable. I need something that would help with his skin as well as the odor?

My dog’s got a flea allergy, and it has caused him to get a dermatitis along with yeast infection. He’s been itching so much; it’s heartbreaking. I want to take him to the vet, but my family’s in a “hole” right now. We should be able to take him in a month or two though; the ‘rents tend to make more money in Spring-Summer. I am working at getting rid of the fleas right now, but it’s pretty hard. Does anyone else have some ideas on what could soothe his itching; temporarily?

This product is POISON!!!! I applied this to my dog twice. The first time, I didn’t really know it was this crap, Sergeant’s Flea & Tick Squeeze-on 5 way Protection for dogs, that caused her problem. The first time, she just kept shaking her head, for 2 days! I gave her Benadryl because I thought it was her allergies, which I think probably saved her and then I washed her which then caused her head shaking to abate. 1 month later, I applied it again. This time, she started drooling and foaming at the mouth PROFUSELY and doing the head shaking thing again!!!!!!! I gave her Benadryl immediately and washed her. She seems to be doing better now but I swear, if she dies, I will sue them!! DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT!! WRITE TO THEM AND/OR CALL THEM AND TELL THEM IF YOU’VE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCES. They need to regulate this stuff!!!!!!!!
