I’m Allergic To My Dog?

so i called my vet today and asked them if they sold any shampoo for my puppy so it could help me with my allergies and they said no that i would have to go buy it at a petstore so i went to petsmart and got allergen reducing shampoo and i was wondering is that actually okay to use on my puppy? it just says for dogs does it have to say a certain age to use this and can i actually use this with flea shampoo? Can i mix other puppy shampoos with it or do i just use it by itself. I also found out by a petsmart employee that she uses hypo allergen shampoo and there is one especially made for puppies what is the difference between hypo allergen and regular allergen? i hope everyone can give me as much information as they know on this it would be really helpful i’m holding back on using the shampoos because i want to double check everything and research it before i decide. the receptionist at my vet said it was okay but they are extremely rude and i’m not quite sure if they are giving me right information on this I mean i have no problem with the vet she is wonderful! but they just need new receptionist and with the information they gave it it just isnt enough to convince me to use the shampoo for my puppy. Thank you for your help i really appreciate it

What’s Wrong With My Dog? Please Read.?

Hello everyone!
I have a 3 year old Maltese and I recently took her to
a dog spa for a haircut (i trust this place because she’s
gone there around 5-6 times now). Today when i got home
from class I noticed that she was itching a lot and licking
her paws and so on. I figured it was an itch so I brushed
her hair, in the process I noticed that she had open wounds
and others seemed like healed cuts. I started getting worried
and figured that the salon had something to do about it, but
my dog kept on scratching. I looked everywhere online and
the only answer I could find was ticks or fleas. I checked for
both, it got so bad I had to bathe my dog and I checked her again.
Later on I noticed that she’s the one hurting herself and biting
into her own skin. She’s done it all over her paws and in other
body places she can reach. I’m really worried as to why she’s doing
this. I had to bandage her feet and paws to keep her from biting
and wounding herself. Anyone have any answers for me?
Besides fleas, or anything.
I know it can be allergies but as far as I know
my dog is not allergic to anything.
Thanks for your help!
Best answer too.

Dog Peeing On Herself, What Could Be Wrong?

I have a female jack russel terrier, she is almost 10 years old and has been fixed. lately she has been peeing on herself. She will go outside to use the bathroom like normal but she will often pee where ever she is sleeping or relaxing, including beds, the couch and the floor. we went a on trip almost 2 weeks ago which is when it started. we thought she just had to go really bad or was stressed which is why she peed in the car, but after we got home she still peed on things and now pees on herself. she stopped for like 2 days.
shes been healthy except for some allergies and ear infections caused by allergies. she also has/had fleas. she acts normal for the most part except for the peeing.
what can cause incontinence in a dog?

Very Itchy Dog??

My Bf’s parents have a Puggle (half pug, half beagle).
He has a REALLY bad time itching. They’ve bathed him gotten rid of his fleas…. I’m thinking it could be allergies, possibly to the flea shampoo. He’s got a bad rash on the tender skin of his belly from chewing, bald spots on his back from running under the bed standing up as high as he can and using the frame to scratch his back…. hes always itching, biting, scratching, etc.
They don’t have the money to take him to the vet to get tested for allergies if its not allergies. I’ve suggested to them a new shampoo without the flea protection… what else can we do to help? We thought it was just a “i;m bored” type thing, but he;ll stop in the middle of playing to itch, and even a bitter deterent won’t get him to stop.. thats the reason he’s starting to use the couch so he doesn’t taste it..
Can we give him benedryl? any suggestions for a good shampoo? and if it IS that, how can we treat for fleas without the advantage and shampoo

I thought it could be allergies or perhaps mosquito bites.I started bathing him every other day just because he likes it, it’s been hot, and because there have been bad fleas lately also. I noticed when he woke from a nap and had been sleeping on a damp spot of the pavement from where I had cleaned earlier and he laid down before it could dry. When he got up from his nap that side of his body that was damp was incredibly “welted”. it doesn’t appear to be bothering him very much. The thing that bothers me is that there are many stray dogs in this area. Disease and alot of really bad stuff like parvo etc spread really easy here. I volunteer on the weekends for a stray animal project so I know first hand how bad it is. I am constantly dealing with worms and other bugs he picks up from outside. If anyone has any idea what it could be I’d love to hear it.PLEASE NO REMARKS ANYTHING CONTAINING THE WORD VET.Im NOT in the U.S not everybody can run to someone else to save them with everything.
