Need New Dog Food Ideas For An Itchy Pup?

i have an 8 month old beagle mix and hes constantly scratching.ive had him on front line plus since he was young so i know its not fleas. i also use Paul Mitchell sensitive dog shampoo on him so im thinking the itchiness is due to a food allergy. I have changed his dog food several times but he still keeps on scratching away. some of the dog foods ive had him on are eagle pack, holistic select, evo and now we are on california natural. any suggestions on new dog food to try that will help with his itchiness?

I Got A Really Itchy Dog!?

Shes a three legged mutt. Her mom was a chocolate lab, her dad was a lab collie (big black collie shaped dog with thick chow-type fur) Somehow, she turned out mostly white, with lab-type fur. She’s not albino though, ’cause her nose is black, and her eyes are brown.
Anyway… She’s really itchy all the time. I bathe her daily with sulfodene dog shampoo, she has no fleas at all. I’ve tried feeding her special food, and searched for any possible causes of allergies, including people food, and soaps, and everything else… I’ve moved twice, and that hasnt changed her condition. The only thing that seemed to help was cortizone shots that she got for her front leg amputation (she got stepped on by her mom when she was 3 days old… I had to bottle feed her and the whole bit…) I’ve tried oatmeal baths, and a million different kinds of sprays and lotions and all that crap… I’ve taken her camping for weeks at a time, and she dosent really get any better then either…
Help?

Can I Use Dog Shampoo On My Cat, Is It Safe?

Ever since we gave our cat flea treatments (collar, spray, flea powder on the carpet) she has been itching a lot
Ive given her several baths with ‘human’ shampoo and it seems to help her for a few days but then she just goes right back to itching a lot again..
I was looking at the store for cat shampoo that might relieve itching, I think its due to allergies and dry skin.. and I came across Oatmeal and Aloe dog shampoo (which relieves itching in dogs that have the same skin conditions like dry flaky skin) They only had 1 kind of cat shampoo and it was for human allergies so I didnt buy it because I want to relieve my CAT and not myself
So would it be safe to bathe my cat in Oatmeal dog shampoo? What is the difference between dog and cat shampoo?
I see that some shampoos are for both dogs and cats.. then there are shampoos just for dogs and just for cats
Whats the difference??

Much to my dismay, my breeder had my Bernese puppy on Purina Puppy Chow. Right when I got him we began weening him onto Natural balance by doing a 3:1 ratio of Purina to NB, then half and half. Since the day we got him his eyes had been very red – to the point where I was concerned about him developing cherry eye – and he was a very itchy boy. He was given a flea treatment just before we got him, so for the first few days we attributed the itching to that.
I abruptly switched him to all Natural Balance a few days ago and gave him a hypoallergenic oatmeal shampoo bath. His eyes haven’t been red since and his itching has slightly subdued.
How long does it typically take for all food-related allergy symptoms to clear up?
