I think my puppy might be allergic to Nutro Max puppy. It’s what the breeder was feeding her, and from what I’ve seen, both her, and her brother were very itchy before I took her home.
She has really dry and itchy skin, and she’s always scratching it.
I bathed her in oatmeal shampoo and applied a hydrocortisone spray, but nothing relieves her itching.
I’m taking her to the vet Tuesday to see what’s up, but I got nutro natural choice small bites, to switch her to.
If she’s allergic to nutro max, would she also be allergic to the NT small bites?
I know it sounds stupid because obviously we don’t know if my dog’s allergic to anything at this point, but I just want to relieve her itching because I can see it’s REALLY bothering her, and I already have this other food, and I don’t know if I give it to her and she’s allergic to it too, it’s be another waste of money….
or can i return it open? since it basically says that on the back of the bag…?
Thanks

but what i’m here to know (while i dont take her to the vet on friday) is what could a black/brownish mole be? its located in the inside of the ear and its kinda raised…

My golden retriever has had skin problems before but they went away with her allergy medicine. but in the last day she all of a sudden has two spots on either side of her face under her ears that are perfect circles. They’re really irritated and pussy and there might be some hair loss. At first I thought it was tree sap but when ive tried to clean it up she flinches when barely even touch it. She has started to itch the spots with her foot are there glands there or what is causing it to be wet?

My dog has allergies, but it is not clear whether it is only environmental or if he has some food allergies as well. The vet says that since I only had him for around 3 months there is not enough information to determine that yet (he comes from a shelter with no known history). He is around 15 months old, good weight, great energy level and good appetite.
About a month ago I switched him from Wellness Whitefish and sweet potato to California Natural lamb and rice due to a rather serious bout of vomiting after eating the Wellness for 2 weeks. He’s doing great on the CN, but I have this nagging anxiety about the low protein content (around 21%) although I love the ingredient list. I was supplementing it with canned food (same brand, same formula) to add some protein and fat but I am still a little worried about his nutrition.
Today I went to the feed store to get more food and I ended up picking up a bag of EVO red meat too. I figured I would transition him very very slowly, using the EVO as treats for the first few days and then blending it in gradually. After all, I heard wonderful things about EVO and we really don’t know if the dog is food allergic or not… However, once we got home, the dog simply would not eat the kibble I offered as a treat. He smelled it, licked it, picked it up in his mouth and spit it out! I tried several times and managed to get him to eat 2 pieces, but that’s all. Thankfully, I can return the bag even though it’s open, but I am looking for advice before I do so.
Do you think I should insist on feeding the EVO or this is for the best? I can still get my money back and get him something else or just stick to the CN dry plus canned… What do you think?
