Edwin is a recent rescue from death row in Springfield, IL. He is an Orange and White American Field bred English Setter that we suspect if from a notorious breeded in Benton, IL. All of the rescues we have pulled from this guy have Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF) as he doesn’t use any flea and tick preventative and his dogs run amuck on his property. Edwin is a bit apprehensive about meeting new dogs and he looks stiff and sore. Joint pain accompanies RMSF as do hot flashes and fevers. Long term complications include dog aggression, food allergies and eventual kidney failure. Edwin will be treated for 8 solid weeks on doxycycline and will be retested a few months later.

It’s not easy finding the perfect treats for elderly dogs. As dogs get older we have to be more careful in our choices for dog food and dog treats. DogQuality has surveyed a variety of dog treats to find the ideal product suitable for our older dogs. WholeLife dog treats are 100% human grade, and through a freeze dried process offer senior dogs a healthy, easy on the teeth and stomach, low in calorie treat. These treats are also great for dogs that have allergies. We reviewed Turkey and Beef Liver and as you will see from this video product review, both were a hit with Mackenzie, a 12 year old pug. DogQuality.com is proud to be the only Canadian online source for this product. www.DogQuality.com Video Rating: 0 / 5
Molly is a 3-year-old, family-raised with kids American Bulldog. She was adopted from us as a puppy, but unfortunately her owner developed severe allergies to her. This sweet, snuffly girl likes cuddles and is a really nice dog. She is housebroken, socialized with kids and friendly with most dogs, and crate-trained. No kitty companions for this girl, though! She has basic obedience training, but is still strong on leash while out walking, if excited. Molly is a little confused about why she’s at the shelter, but we’re sure she’s going to get adopted quickly by a Bulldog lover! She’s friendly and sweet, but also needs a daily outlet for exercise being a young dog. As with a lot of bully breeds, Molly has food allergies, and does well on a specific duck and potato kibble, but can’t be fed generic dog food. Please be advised that our dogs are strays, so we do not have any background history on them. To meet any of the dogs, please visit the Vancouver Animal Shelter (VAS) at 1280 Raymur Avenue in Vancouver, or call 604-871-6888. Video Rating: 0 / 5
