This is an issue for the vet. This is probably caused by the backyard breeder you purchased her from. Breeders like that dont care for health testing their animals, and only selfishly contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in this world, especially pits.

It’s just that my boyfriend and I enjoy kysses (I like spelling it that way…), but now that winter is coming around it has been very chilly outside and my lips chap very quickly and it is so gross to feel how pointy the dry skin sticks out. He hasn’t mentioned it yet but I’d like to do something about it before he does.

Sometimes they chap so badly when I wake up from sleep that when I smile they rip open at the little cracks and it HURTS! And After they clot, I get a really gross-looking scab and it’s usually dead center of my bottom lip. :’(

I have also tried lotions but that just gives me pimples. I have annoying skin in which if I use those skin-drying pimple solutions, my skin becomes very dry and irritant but if I put lotion over dry skin, I get oily pimples.

So If you can help me out, I’d buy you a taco lol but all I can really do is give you ten points. Anyone else gets a cyber hugg. And that’s how I spell hugg.

Other things that might strain your answer of excess information would be that

I don’t wear makeup
I’m a girl
My boyfriend has oily skin (yea that might sound kinda gross) so i don’t think his kysses cause my chapping
Where I live, there is like no fall; the seasons just skip from summer to winter to summer again. So right now it’s winter.
I have dogs but I never let them lick my mouth (cheeks and chin is fine though).
I don’t dehydrate often in the winter.
I drink a lot of tea and orange juice. So it’s either hot or cold, not ice cold or luke warm.
I haven’t had any allergies lately
The chapping is just the same when I’m on my monthly cycles.

lol sorry if this is a lot, I am just very annoyed. It’s like having those glasses that you really need to see anything because you can’t see sh!t but they keep slipping off your nose even if you’re not looking down, plus they hinder your breathing through the nostrils when they get to the tip of your nose.

I’d really like a wonderful soft kyss on Christmas this year. Those are better than melt-in-your-mouth chocolates.

Please throw out all of your ideas. Even the cruel ones, I guess. If I don’t try what you guys say, I haven’t tried everything, right?

I’m wondering if it’s the grains in the food. I am thinking about switching them to a grain free food like Blue Wilderness or Wellness Core, but am wondering if cutting out grains would be a shock to their system… I’ll switch gradually by mixing, but I wanted to check to see if getting a grain free food is really worth the extra cost. And I’m also wondering what type to get… Chicken products seem to give her the runs, so was wondering if I should get salmon or duck? I imagine the salmon would be better for her skin? I’m so paranoid that she won’t like the fish food and I’ll waste my money on it…

Sorry for all the questions, I’m just trying to find the right food for my dogs without breaking the bank in the process! If you can recommend a food that isn’t crazy expensive, please do so! Thanks!

I have recently discovered that our local humane society will do all of her needed vaccinations and test her for heartworms for only $ 50. They also provide the paperwork showing that she is current on her vaccinations. My question is this, if I take her to the humane society and take her paperwork to her veterinarian showing that she had them done somewhere else, will they look at me different? I feel weird doing this since I am at the vet’s office almost every month for something and I feel like I am going behind their backs.

No. They will not see you differently, It is not their job to judge where you get your dog vaccinated as long as it is done. If you need to get it done at the humane society to save the money, so be it.

The vet did a skin scrape and said there weren’t any parasites like mites so it isn’t mange and that the skin she scraped where there was sores were normal eukaryotic cells, no bacterial or fungal cells indicating infection. She gave me an expensive shampoo which I’ve been giving Jasper, his fur seems to be growing back in but today I noticed he had another sort of scab. This is very aggravating spending a lot of money at the vet and getting no answers. The vet suggested if it didn’t get better I could try going to a dermatologist. She said she didn’t think it was allergies. So what is wrong with my dog and what do you suggest I do?? I feel like I’ve tried everything, shampoos, getting him soothing creams, hot spot treatment, giving him fish oil with his food to help his coat. I don’t know what else to do. What do you think?
My dog eats Canidae and has since I’ve had him (for about a year)..I have a bag of Wellness I could try switching him to, but I thought Canidae was a fairly good brand and it hasn’t seemed to cause him problems before. The only other things he really eats is trader joes peanut butter dog treats and liver treats (when I give him his medicine), sometimes some cheese or peanut butter in his kong and he gets bully sticks sometimes. I might try changing the cleaning products. I don’t think he’s been in any stress, nothing different is going on and personality wise he seems the same as always.
