My dog is acting very odd…?

Question by Kimi: My dog is acting very odd…?
My dog has issues…she is a shitzu, she has always been house broken, she is 11 years old, allergy to beef protein, has terrible skin allerigies. I’ve taken her to the vet…no kidney problems or bladder issues, he can’t pin point why she is behaving badly…schedules haven’t changed. She turns circles in corners of rooms then will just walk away, she has also started urinating repeatedly on our carpet in several areas (we’ve had these areas professionally treated, several times), she does this when we are home right in front of us and when we are not home (can’t crate her, she tries to dig herself out, ending with very bloddy paws). We’ve tried axiety meds…everything. If we try to pick her up she bites us…actually will bring blood (we have to pick her up with a towel) and on top of all this (actually too many issues to list) she stinks! We give her a bath and within an hour…she stinks…horribly! Even our guest will comment on her smell! Anyone have any idea what could be up with her?

The dog might just be under a lot of stress, or she could be nervous and scared. Try to be gentle with her, and don’t make quick movements toward her.

My dog is acting strange :(?

Question by jackie: My dog is acting strange :( ?
I noticed recently my dog has been itching a lot. He also licks his
paws, feet and kind of gnaw at his ankles frequently. We started
checking for stuff under his skin and found bumps on his neck, his
rear and near his tail.

Looking further we discovered huge bumps near
his testicles and in the area between his testicles and anus. He is
constantly licking and biting that area too so now there have developed sores. I will take him to the vet and also give him an oatmeal bath to help with the itching but has anyone gone through this before and have any idea what it might be? I heard about allergies so should I recommend to my vet that he get an allergy shot? Thank you!

Q&A: Dog acting sluggish, barks when picked up…?

Question by tony: Dog acting sluggish, barks when picked up…?
my girlfriends dog was fine earlier today, then after he went out side (im in DE so there is 3 feet of snow on the ground) he came in and settled down for a while then since around 8:00 he has been acting very sluggish and he yelps when ever he is picked up, he has allergies and sometimes his skin is tender but he has never acted this way…any help is greatly appreciated..

Sluggish and barks? That would take a crystal ball for me to figure out since I’m not a vet. A vet couldn’t figure it out based on that. I doubt the snow has anything to do with it since it’s been there for 3 days. If he’s not better tomorrow, take him to the vet. That’s all I got for ya.

Question by lovinyamtyeknwy: My potty trained Beagle has been acting out and pooping on the floor….HELP!?
I’m very pregnant and in the past month or so, my Beagle has been pooping on the floor in the middle of the night. I have 3 dogs and I know it is her because she has had other problems and has very bad food allergies. She has a dog door that she can go out, and we’ve had her for 2 years and she’s never deliberately pooped on the floor. The other night we were watching a movie and she squatted right in front of the TV to pee. I don’t understand why she is behaving like this. I love her to death, but with the baby coming anyday I am not going to be able to deal with her behavior. It’s getting to the point where I’m going to have to give her away, and the idea breaks my heart. HELP PLEASE!?!?!?!?!
She isn’t pregnant because I got her fixed a few months ago. She’s only 2 years old so I dont think she’s getting too old. She uses the dog door all the time….she runs out it to bark at the neighbors dogs and she doesnt poop on the floor during the day, only at night. I’ve had plenty of blood tests run on her, thats how we figured out that she had food allergies, and she is on special vet approved dog food. Kidney failure would result in peeing on the floor wouldn’t it? And it doesnt make sense why she’d be afraid of the dog door when she is perfectly capable of going outside during the day.
