Q&A: I just adopted an 8 month old pit bull?

Question by ~Proud Mama of 3~: I just adopted an 8 month old pit bull?
Who need I say is the sweetest dog in the world!! She loves my kids and is soo gentle!! The lady who we adopted her from said she had gotten into some insulation….so now she has a bald spot on the top of her back *the hair is growing back* and on her side. Under her neck is red and missing hair. I however think its due to food allergy. She is blue and white and pit bulls are prone to skin allergies anyways. I switched her food to nutro lamb and rice………….is there anything else I can do???

Adopted boston terrier rubs against furniture?

Question by mandy007: Adopted boston terrier rubs against furniture?
Hi all, I recently adopted a Boston Terrier and he’s been rubbing up against furniture and people like he’s trying to scratch an itch….this happens pretty frequently. I gave him a bath as soon as I got him home b/c he smelled bad, so I’m thinking it may be a reaction to the shampoo. (there were no fleas in the bathwater, so I’ve ruled that out)I’ve also done some research and I see BT’s are susceptible to food allergies. The rescue org. I got him from was feeding him Gravy Train (so have I), which doesn’t look like quality food. So now I’m thinking it could be food allergies. Any ideas on whats causing this and what to do about it?

P.S. I’m a first time dog owner, so all of this is new to me.

my adopted rescued dog “matty”

Matty is alomost like a stray dog, not taken care of properly and not fed properly. She got skin allergies so Iam treating her skin with dog products that i have been using also with my other dogs (that works really well).

Rocco ADOPTED!

Due to extensive networking, Rocco has been adopted to a single guy in San Diego. Rocco is a seven year old red nose pit bull. He is very charming and full of personality. He is affectionate, happy, enthusiastic and loves giving kisses. He loves people, big and small. He doesn’t mind being used as a pillow as long as you don’t mind a pillow that kisses. Rocco is a very strong, muscular boy. He’s over seventy lbs. and people are fascinated by him because he looks very powerful and intimidating. He’s too friendly to be a guard dog but he certainly looks the part. Rocco has come a long way with other dogs. When we got him, he was often nervous and uncomfortable and, on a couple of occassions, it came out as aggression. Over the year that we’ve had him, we’re worked very hard to get him used to other dogs. He now lives with three dogs and, although there were some fights in the beginning, a long time has gone by without an incident. He also goes to a dog friendly facility every week and has made several doggy friends. Rocco is strong-willed and needs a firm, experienced owner. He has had training and walks great on a leash. Sometimes, when walking, he starts prancing like a little show horse — very cute for such a macho-looking dog. Rocco has food allergies and needs to be on a good food. He has a slight heart murmur. Otherwise, he’s in good health. Rocco has recently lost his foster home and we can’t afford to board him for long. Please network him. Visit our website www
