Question by KittyKat: what animal Can i get if my sister is highly allergic?
My sister is REALLY allergic to pretty much everythings (cat, dog, rabbit ect ect) not the normal why, her skin gets red and itchy, burns and she breaks out in hives.
BUt my entire family is comlete;y animal obsessed, we had a cat for years but we recently had to get rid of it as my sisters allergies just became TOO much, what animal can we get?
Also we’re thinking about a hairless cat? my sister doesnt even live with us most of the time so would a hairless cat only make her itchy if she were to touch it? cause that would be ok as long as it doesnt contaminate what it touches or….
do you get what i mean? or just an animal that would be nice, taht you can pet or watch TV with.
also i Live in Ireland so where would i be able to get animals like that?
thank you

Excerpts from a Cat’s Daily Diary…
Day 983 of my captivity…
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.
Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.
The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.
Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a ‘good little hunter’ I am….
There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of ‘allergies.’ I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking. I must try this again tomorrow — but at the top of the stairs.
I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released – and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.
The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe, for now…

whoever wote this is mean and sad they think cats want to escape but it is cute and funny. I do agree it is unfair they only get special food when we get whatever we want but thats life!:-D

Question by caninekiss: Do you belive that the higher end foods make a big difference in animal health?
ive been feeding my dogs top of the line dog food, wellness, taste of the wild, dehydrated gramma lucy diets etc, they dont have any allergies or any skin or digestive issues. but i know dogs who have lived well over there life expectances on the cheapest of the cheap do food, and i have recently fell on some financial hard times and am feeding my dogs dad’s dog food till i can afford somethibg better, figured cheap food over no food, and just as a side note if not for my families left overs id be living on ramen noodles so its not like my dogs r eating crap and me steak. but to shorten this alittle i was just wonder others opions on the “good” vs “bad” food choice and maybe whsat u feed and why? thanks for ur time

We’ve always fed our dogs Pedigree, but all of our dogs have died rather young but it wasnt specifically food related (tragic death, hip dysplasia, wobblers disease, and parvo (thats what my dad got for not vaccinating our first puppy). Relatively young I dont think weve had a dog more than 9 years old. I prefer the good stuff because the fact that my dog is eating road kill or food that wasnt deemed edible for human consumption makes me sick. If you cannot afford it right now its best they do have food over nothing. I think if you are feeding the low end stuff to try and stick to what fits the breed (large/small breed food and age appropriate food. Maybe offset this by getting the non by product canned dog food? Sometimes you can get the high end on sale or find the cheapest high end food.
What do you think? Answer below!

Question by willodrgn: What does this mean: animal fat?
I was reading the ingredients list of a bag of Hill’s Science Diet at the vet yesterday, and i don’t understand. If corn is so hard for dogs to digest why is “ground whole grain corn” the second ingredient? Why is “Gluton Corn Meal” on there? Where are they getting “Animal Fat”, why is it not more specific?
I am trying to find out why vets are carrying this food. It is nothing but fillers in the top ingredients right after chicken. So many dogs have allergies to wheat and soy, that is what is causing a lot of the skin irritations. It also stresses the digestive tract and lowers the immunity.
The only thing i can think of is that it helps keep dogs needing veterinary care.
Poor dogs.

Question by Lycanthropyyy: Would you consider this animal cruelty?
Hello,
I have been living in the same two-family apartment for the past 7 years, over these years my neighbors have had various animals. I myself, have a well cared for Labrador Retriever and two cats which are rescues (one has three legs). All of my animals are UTD on all vaccinations, and are (s)neutered. My neighbors however, have two dogs. Only one of which is neutered, but before he was neutered they had a litter of ‘accidents’. They have a dachshund who has a very apparent skin condition. They said that he jumped out of the basket on a motorcycle (or similar vehicle – I’m not sure) and has ‘road burns’. However, this dog has been practically bald for around a year now. They leave their dogs for long periods of times (usually long weekends, 2-4 days) and nobody comes home to take the dogs out, give food/water, etc. Around a year or two ago, they took home a cat. I volunteer at a Feline Rescue, and I am well aware that this cat is not neutered. He is spraying in the house, and you can even smell it OUTSIDE of the house. My mother was blaming it on my cats, but the smell of un-neutered cat spray is much different. Our landlord has told the neighbors they need to do something about their cat, and it was good for awhile. However, now all you can smell is cat piss on both sides of our house as well as outside. Now, my landlord is saying he’s going to limit that we have ‘one cat and one dog’. I do not want to have to risk losing one of my cats, both of which have health conditions (diabetes and food allergies). I am hoping, that some sort of Law enforcement (MSPCA) will feel as I feel, and many other people feel – and will take custody of my neighbors’ animals. They are living in unsanitary conditions, and I am sure some of them need medical attention. How would you go about this situation?
Thank you.
