Dog allergies…serious question, need answer asap?

Question by beastiegirlusa: Dog allergies…serious question, need answer asap?
I was told by my parents, that my dog stuffed her face into a pile of plants and stuff, I guess stuff that she’s allergic to and since 7am today she’s been sneezing and shaking and wouldn’t eat food until just now. I just came home and she’s sitting in the corner of the room laying down but she makes these noises like she’s trying to sneeze or get stuff out of her nose. I’m sure its just allergies, but what can we do to fix it? Need answer asap.
well my mom just left the house for an appointment so she wont be home until 12. so there’s nothing i can do with that. But is it possible that she’s shaking because she’s scared? when she sits, she doesn’t shake or anything but when she walks up to me and lets me rub her, she starts to shake.

im not trying to make light of the situation by the way.
My friend was a vet tech. so she told me a few days ago that dogs can have benadryl, so before my mom left the house, she gave her a benadryl and I was just laying with my dog because that calms her, and now she seems better. Hopefully, she’ll calm down and in an hour, I’ll see how she’s doing. I’ll be sure to keep posting, though.

I would take her to the vet some plants could harm your dog. It could be serious. At least call a vet and ask them on the phone and they can give you their opinion.

what is this on my dog…please answer!!?

Question by James D: what is this on my dog…please answer!!?
i just adopted her 2 days ago, she is 10months old and pure bred American bulldog. She has this weird rash around her mouth and chin! she has a vet appt in 2 days and i will see what they say, but i am wondering if anyone has had anything like this? Its not new food because i have the remaining bag of the food she was already eating as they gave it to me! she recently hasnt wanted to eat her dog food either which is more reason for concern!! she is eating a little here and there but i am wondering if that hurts her!! any idea’s lemme know!! below is the link for a picture of what it looks like!! also let me add they sent her food in this huge plastic tub like they type you would use to store stuff in from walmart, i read about the plastic allergy thing do you think this could be from that? she eats from metal bowls!! i also want to add she is just coming out of heat could this have to do with it??

Definitely looks like an allergy of some kind. It could be from the bowl or the plastic container. I would suggest removing the food from the plastic container and find something else. Also find different bowls to use. See if that helps. You really do need that vet appointment.

Question by ~Aquarian~: Can anyone answer a few health-related-questions about my dog?
My dog recently was hit by a car. My mom wouldn’t take him to see a vet, but it’s been two days since the incident, and he seems to be doing a lot better. My questions are what can I do about his left eye? He squints it or keeps it closed and it has yellow/green or white “sleep” in it. I don’t know what else it’s called. I clean his eye up with a tissue, but it does come back. Also, his ribs appear bigger to me. It’s as if he’s just a really skinny dog, making his ribs appear big, but he wasn’t like that before. What is this from? Last question is that I’m pretty sure he has a skin allergy. It’s very flaky and itchy, and he’s missing a lot of hair along the back from neck to tail! Again, my mom doesn’t want to take him to a vet, but would rather try home remedies. My dad heard that you could put motor oil on, but, ya, i won’t be doing that to him. Do you know anything that will help his skin out and without having to go to a vet?

He needs to go to the vet. There could be god knows what wrong with him from being hit by a car. As for the skin problem again only a vet can tell you EXACTLY whats wrong.

Question by ?????: Did I over-react? Plz answer! Thx! Easy 10 points.?
Our dog has very a lot of allergies. If she eats even one thing off her special diet (special expensive dog food, apples, and green beans) she chews her feet raw and gets horrible ear infections. We’ve told this to my grandmother before and she says she wouldn’t ever feed the dog anything off the food she can have.

Yesterday my cousin found a recipe for ‘bird bread’ that she wanted me to help her with, so we made it for my bird. When we were done we had it sitting on the table to cool. About 10 minutes later my grandparents arrive. My grandma walks over and cuts a big piece of the bird bread and before I can stop her she takes a huge bite. I told her it was for the bird and she spits it right onto the floor and tosses the rest to my dog who eats all of it including the part she spit right onto the floor. I was trying to get it all away from the dog and she doesn’t even try to help. Afterwards I tried to explain to her that we have to spend a lot of money on the dog food and that she cant have any of the other food because she’ll chew her feet raw and she rolled her eyes.

She told me the bird bread was disgusting. (duh its for a conure not a grandma) and later I overheard her telling my other grandma I overreacted and that allergies are all in the head.

Who overreacted? btw my dogs feet are pink and swollen.

I would disallow your grandmother from ever being in the same room with your dog again. She obviously doesn’t have any respect for you or your house. She should have asked for a piece of bread before just taking some, and knowing your dog’s special diet, shouldn’t have given it to her.
