Question by Carson: My dog scratches herself until she bleeds!?
My dog continually scratches herself leaving rashes, sores, and bloody cuts. She’s been to the vet a million times now. She has allergies constantly. We’ve changed her food to a special hypoallergenic diet, shes had antibiotics, has special shampoo in which shes bathed regularly, she’s had antihistamines, steroids, everything under the sun. My dog has more medication the the pharmacy.
I’m committed to taking care of her allergies and doing what she needs but my concern is her constant scratching of her neck, armpits, and face. She is tearing up her skin, leaving wounds and bald spots. What can i do to prevent her form harming herself? I’ve seen those things called soft paws but is there any other options?

It started out on his back and chest 4 months ago. We took him to the vet in September and she gave him a shot of cortisone and antibiotic. It got better for two weeks. Now it is all over his body and back with a vengeance. He scratches all the time till it bleeds. He has a peculiar smell. have been bathing him in hydrocortisone shampoo for dogs 4 times a week and use tea tree oil spray every day.
Any ideas on what it is? We had him on lamb and rice formula for 6 weeks to rule out food allergy.

i have a shih zhu. the vet said she has flea allergies. ive tried all different kinds of shampoos. they will all kill the fleas but when she goes back outside she has then again, alot of them. and ive tried the frontline and all that that you put on there back. and its works, it kills the fleas but it doesnt keep them away like it says it will. how do i keep the fleas away!!!!!!???? and even when she doesnt have fleas she scratches her self until she has huge sores on her and she bleeds. i feel so bad for her and i dont know what to do to keep her from scratching!!!!
