Dog SEVERELY allergic to corn , feeding oatmeal & rice?
Question by angel_eyes_91086: Dog SEVERELY allergic to corn , feeding oatmeal & rice?
I have a female 4 yr old large mixed breed dog, she suffers from demodectic mange, and many food allergies. We’ve tried several brands but they all one way or the other make her sick. We cook her rice, sometimes oatmeal. Either way we add some bacon grease for flavor. She has started putting her weight back on, but I still feel like she is lacking in some things. Should I get her vitamins from the pet section at Wal-Mart to help her out? Any other suggestions to help her? She’s my baby and I hate seeing her sick so we just started cooking her food and any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Yes the food recall bothers me even more, though most of the feed being recalled has corn in it so it doesn’t seem to really affect her anyways.
I wish I could find a treat for her somewhere that doesn’t have corn in it, I get her the mammoth bones sometimes but I would like her to have the dog cookies/biscuits
My poor girl can eat so few things that won’t make her sick. And considering she’s a very large dog (100lb Rottweiler mix) she eats a bit more.

First of all, she needs much more protein than it sounds like you are giving her.
I have a Westie with allergies, I know what you’re going through.
I feed her Nature’s Variety Lamb and Oatmeal kibble. No wheat, no corn, no soy. The Nautre’s Variety also has a raw food diet you can try if she’s really sensitive.
