Does My Dog Have The Mange Or An Allergy?

I found a dog on the side of the road. She has very dry skin. It itches her very badly. She does not smell bad at all like people say when dogs have the mange. She had a few bald patches but not big gaps just a light spots where hair is missing. She only had a few ticks on her when we picked her up. No fleas at all. Which I thought was unusual since it is summer and she was out in the woods. I have bathed her and bought hotspots spray and stuff for dry skin. It is slowly clearing up but she still scratches so bad she makes sores. I don’t know anything about the mange but she don’t smell, she don’t have huge bald spots, she has very dry skin. So is this just a dry skin problem that needs some conditioner and some moisture, or is it more serious?

Why Does My Shih-tzu Always Scratch Herself?

I feed her Wellness puppy food, with no corn or soy or wheat or added sugar, so I don’t think it is food allergies. I’ve checked her multiple times for fleas and I’ve not ever found any on her. She’s never around other dogs and the only time she goes outside is to go to the bathroom in my fenced in backyard. I bathe her every 2 weeks or so with Johnson’s baby shampoo… She doesn’t appear to have any red irritated spots from excessive itching, but she does scratch quite a bit. Do I just need to take her to the vet?

It started a few weeks ago, first he started to bite his paws and his butt, then he started to scratch and lick his belly like crazy…first I thought he has fleas…well, I bought a shampoo which kills fleas so I gave him a bath and found 2 fleas in the water. I can’t see any more fleas on him now.
But anyways…. what I am worried about is the bumps he has on his skin. When I pet him, all I can feel is bumps, he is covered in bumps they kinda look like red pimples and dry skin… the skin comes of off them too, most of the bumps are on his legs, butt, belly and sides. Hes driving me crazy, all he does is scratch and bite. Can anybody tell me what it is and what I can do to make it stop.
I read about canine allergy but I wanted to ask on here too to see if people could help me on here.
I brought him to the vet in April to get all his shots….I told the vet about the itchy paws and butt, she told me to get some allergy medicine over the counter which I did and it didn’t help. He didn’t have the bumps then, they showed up maybe 3 weeks after the vet visit. I wish I could bring him to the vet again but….I am very short with money right now….since I am pregnant and need to see my doctor a lot which is not cheap.
I hope I can get some information on here :(
I feel so sorry for my dog

Does My Dog Have Dry Skin?

My dog has been itching for a couple days now. I thought it was from him being in my uncle’s pond, so I gave him a bath with oatmeal shampoo. I am in the process of switching his food to Wellness dog food because I heard that it hs very low allergens. Could it be allergies? If so, what can I do to make him more comfortable? I know its not fleas, he is on Frontline.

Does My Puppy Have A Rash Or Allergies?

I have a 3 month old pit bull puppy and he is black with a white underbelly. He is constantly nipping, scratching and biting himself. He does not have fleas, and is on Frontline. Underneath his armpits, legs, and some parts of his belly are scratches and red marks from his incessant biting. I understand some dogs are allergic to corn and many puppy foods contain it. He also eats grass any time he lays down outside or is near it. He has never thrown up or been sick and does not eat the dirt. I want to break this habit because some grass is treated with pesticides and i do not want him thinking it is ok to eat it everywhere we go.
