Question by Hazel C: My cat is losing weight & I can’t get him to eat. I’ve tried canned foods even.?
He just recently became an outside cat again after living inside for about two years. I’m pretty sure he suffers from allergies because he’s always sneezing and has runny eyes. He does have a tendency to throw up his food every once and awhile. But now he just isn’t eating. I’ve left canned food out, different types of dry food and dog food. I even left out a piece of lunch meat which was gone in the morning but we’ll never know if he actually ate it… help!
He was a stray that came to us. He was always an outside cat. Then two years ago one of my neighbors trapped my other cat and took him to the pound. Since then, my cats have lived indoors but this cat is not meant for the indoors. My two cats do not get along and the outside guy has a thing for peeing on the furniture. If anything he was less comfortable living indoors.
TOOK HIM TO THE VET. HE HAS FELINE AIDS :’(
THANKS FOR THE HELP ALL

Question by micheleturner97: Dog hacking, won’t eat.. HELP?
My 10 year old yellow lab has been hacking about three times a day. The vet said it was not kennel cough, but old age and probably allergies. He said it was nothing to be worried about. However, these past few days, she won’t eat her dog food. I softened it with a little water in hoping it would help, but nothing. I put Cheerios in the dog food and she ate only those bits. My lab loves to eat. When she doesn’t, I figure something is wrong. When she barks, it is horse. She is part of the family. The vet is closed, so I am asking for advise. She seems fine otherwise.
The vet did check everything and said that it was old age. We did go to the pet store tonight and got some new dogfood that was recommended by the store. Gave her a handful and she ate it up like crazy. Acting a little strange and her ears are really warm. We all had the stomach flu last week and I am wondering if dogs can get it.

Did your vet check to make sure that nothing is lodged in her throat? That alone will cause those symptoms.

I have been doing searchs on ingredients of foods my son has been eating. He has extreem food allergies affecting his GI tract, resulting in major issues for him. I am amazed to find ingredients such as trisodium phospate in breakfast cereal. A search on this informed me that it is a cleaning agent. Another search for Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, found in the same food, told me this ingredient is found mainly in dog food??? This is all gross and frighten. I would love to have a reffrence list of ingredient that I and humans should stear clear of.. I can’t believe That chemicals like these are in foods. From what I can tell it might be common?? I am interested in a general list for both of us, now. I do not want to eat anything like that either… Please forgive my spelling. THANKS
