Question by Kellee .: My dogs hair falls out and the skin turns black?!?
Back in December I adopted my now 10month old pitbull mix and she had three spots on her that did not have hair, it was all in a row. They are about a dimes size in diameter. Later on, about 2 days, the skin where there was no fur turned black.

I took her to the vet, they did blood work, and said they didn’t know. Charged me $ 200. They said it might have happened before I got her, by crawling under a chain link fence or something.

Well, yesterday I noticed on her other side there was about a quarter sized patch of hair gone.. And this morning I woke up and it is black.

Is it allergies? Hot Spots? I have no clue. I will not take her to the vet just to receive a pointless, outrageous bill.

Please help me.
She doesn’t itch at all.
It’s like it just scabs up all of a sudden, and falls out.

Look into a canine dermatologist. I understand that is the last thing you wanted to hear but a specialist will be your best bet and believe it or not they are not that much more expensive.

Don’t waste anymore time with your existing vet.

Boris Kitten (Russian Blue) Falls Off Chair…

Hello Everyone! Here’s Boris Kitten tonight, falling off the furniture in his eagerness to love me. Boris’s fur does NOT look good, as you may have noticed, because he is allergic to… Everything, as the Vet tells us. He gets monthly shots from the vet for his allergies, plus special “Cat Fish Oil” from the vet, plus he’s on Advantage for fleas. He still shows nasty signs of allergies in his skin. In the meantime, he’s the most lovey, snuggly guy ever! Boris, as all of our other 5 cats and dogs, is a former stray, adopted from our local Animal Control shelter. He’s a Russian Blue mix (thus his name). Please consider adopting your next lovey-bins from your local ASPCA/Humane Society/Animal Control shelter, where all the best pets are housed! PS – I’m saying “You’re breaking the camera,” and at the end, yes, I’m giving him a kiss. I think he deserves it, for all his trouble just to love me up.
