Question by Michey: My dog is going potty in the house suddenly after…..(warning: a bit long)?
So about 2 months ago I adopted a 9 year old Min Pin. She was adjusting well and took to me and my boyfriend like glue. We never had any problems with her she has actually been the best dog. The previous owner told me she was crate trained and was used to sleeping in a crate from 7am – 3pm, well my hours are much less then that, but when I put her in the crate she fought like crazy and the entire 3 hours she was in there my neighbors told me she was shrieking none stop. So I tried leaving her out of the crate and she did fine no crying, no destruction, and no accidents.

The last week give or take a few days she has three accidents that I found one poop was all over my living rooms and yesterday she peed on my shirt. The other accident I do not think I can blame on her she got into my birds seeds and was not feeling well and her schedule was messed up but was after the first accident. I take her out at 8 am my boyfriend takes her out at 11am and 2pm I come home at 5pm and she gets about a 30-45 min walk and then depending on the weather we go out at 7pm and 9pm this is herschedule every day she eats at 10:15am and 8:15pm her food is homemade from a vet recipe reccomendation due to food allergies and takes prescibed vitamins. I also hae a 10 month old puppy who is crated but they are out together when some one is home both dogs play and get exercise.

It is not jealousy of having the other dog around because she came from a house with another dog and a baby and her and my dog hang around each other and play and sleep together. I just took her to the vet and they said everything was normal (this was after the bird seed chow down). Could it just be her old age? Or is it something else? I also do not think its terretorial because she keeps hiding the messes she is making. She is also confind with baby gate to the livingroom when and nothing is on the floor or in hear reach except dog toys, her crate, and her bed.

she might have a urine infection or week bladder control due to her age take her to the vet if it continues
its only an accident nothing to do with eexerciseor other dogs . perhaps she isn’t trained properly

Question by NoDayButToday: Trying to rehome an 8 year old poodle with a seizure disorder (don’t want her going to shelter) Tips?
Not my dog but friend inherited a 4lb apricot poodle. The owners said she was a Tiny Toy Poodle. (Which there is no such thing as a Tiny Toy Poodle. So she is a bred down poodle. I’m too nice when it comes to animals, everyone always comes to me for help. She is living at my friends house but has had no luck in finding her a home. lost her Grandmother and in the will she got the dog but she can’t keep the dog. She has an extremely DA Amstaff.

Dutchess is a great little dog, she has a solid temperment. She is good with other dogs, cats, and kids. The problem is she has a seizure disorder and severe skin allergies. She is on a grain free food and that keeps the allergies in check. As far as the seizures go she is on medication. So we are going to be hard pressed to find a home for this 8 year old little poodle with health issues.

Any tips at all for finding her a home?

We want to avoid her going into a shelter at all costs, but I can’t take her (I have a pit bull mix, who is not DA but I worry about having a dog that small around and I’m not really a poodle person and am not comfortable taking her on) and my friend is having to crate and rotate with the poodle and her Amstaff until the poodle finds a home.

So any tips at all in finding this dog a home would be great/

We are trying to find a shelter that will post a courtesy listing as well. And we’ve put an Ad on Craigslist but we are both weary about craiglist. Also there is an ad in the local paper. And a flyer at the vets office
We don’t want her in a shelter environment.

Question by janineej: My Pomeranian Mix 13 yr. old dog has been going bald for over a year.?
I have tested him for Cushings disease and allergies, but it all comes back negative. His hair is balding in a very large patch on both sides of the same area of the body which leads me to think it is definitely hormonal. If it is allergies, the skin is silky smooth, but I have taken him off of all beef and chicken. He scratches his body all the time and scratches his rear end on the concrete all the time.

Have you checked his anal glands? That is usually the cause of the butt dragging. Has your vet checked a full thyroid panel? How about checking adrenal glands? Liver function and kidney functions can also point you in the right direction. With this ongoing for a year, unless there have been a million other tests and treatments, find a new vet! Have you seen a dermatologist? That would be my suggestion at this point.

Q&A: What is going on with my skin!?

Question by u_dumblond: What is going on with my skin!?
For two weeks now I have been getting these “bites” on my skin. I usually get them while i’m sleeping. They come in clusters of three or four, and they also single out all over my body. (except for in my hair and face) I even have them in my belly button!! I was thinking it could be fleas, but I used to be a groomer, and I didnt find any bites on my dog. My bf lives with me and he has no bites at all. I thought it might be bed bugs, but i switched beds with my bf and he has no bites at all and im still getting them! I had friends spend the weekend at my apt, and none of them have any bites! I haven’t done any thing different, like change soaps or any thing like that. What do you think it is?
Please help! i dont know what to do!
i have been taking allergy medicine to see if that was the problem but they still keep coming!
I just went to the doctor for pink eye not too long ago, so i have no money left to go back again.
