My dog was treated for fleas two weeks ago at the vet. For the past 3-4 days she has been scratching profusely and has caused some sores. She was not scratching like this before the treatment. On Sat I noticed she had a sore on her tail that was bleeding a little and she kept gnawing at it and biting it. I called an emergency vet line and they told me to give her benedryl and neosporin. None of it worked. Does anyone know how much an allergy shot would be on average at a vet?

about three weeks ago we picked my dog up from the kennel. she was there for almost 4 weeks. Well they bathed her but didn’t brush her. about a three or four days later she started scratching. I checked for fleas and no visible signs. I used a topical flea and tick and it seemed to subside. then a week or so ago, as I was petting her I felt scaly scabs on her chest, underside (almost puss), side and top of neck. I don’t see any parasites, do you think it is an allergy to the shampoo they used or could it be bites from other dogs in the kennel? the scabs are in areas she can not reach herself. I can’t get her into the vet until late next week (military vet). any suggestions to make her feel better? BTW, she is eating/going as normal.thank you

Recently my 9 year old Maltese terrier had been loosing his hair. It was to the point where he was completely bold in the face legs and one of his ears. We took him to the vet and now he has been on a course of antibiotics and chodasone and a medicated shampoo which looks to have helped as he is growing his fur back slowly. The Vet said it looks like an allergy and so treated him accordingly. I noticed today that my other dog is looking her fur?? On her elbow, ears and next to her tail? It isnt inflamed or red but she is itching a little. I flea treated her and she is wormed. Could she have an allergy too??? My third dog hasnt anything wrong with him. Whats happening to the two?? Is this just an allergic reaction what else could it be??? I did mention to the vet if it could be mange but he said he doubts it. I dont know what to do in the beginning I did treat ALL my dogs for mange when I discovered my 9yo was loosing his fur.
Please has this ever happened with you??? What was it???

Last summer and now again, he’s pulling his hair out (a strip at the bottom of his back by his tail). He itches and no fleas. Looking for anything I might can go buy because he really hates going to vet. Any suggestions? Of course, to help him I’ll take him anyway but if anyone knows of something good for his skin then I want to try that first. He has allergies and it seems like he may be allergic to grass (this happens when he rolls in it and summer months). He’s a house dog so hes not out in the grass a whole lot , well anyway, does anyone know what I might try? Does anyone else have a dog that does this?

My dog is a female year and a half chocolate lab/springer spaniel mix. She has been eating purina just like our other dog, both with no problems. About 5 weeks ago, she started rolling on her back in the poop around the yard. We just thought it was a bad habit from leaving her outside too long. Maybe it is. We had to bathe her 3 seperate times, mostly just around the neck. We used a gentel, natural shampoo on the area. We have been vigilant about cleaning up after the dogs and that habit has seemed to stop. Good.
Perhaps unrelated, 3 weeks ago she started scratching like crazy. And scratching. And scratching. And chewing on her feet. We didn’t see any signs of fleas, mites, bugs; no red marks, no flakiness. No signs other than itching. Her energy was also down, but she has been staying awake at night to scratch when she normally sleeps.
A week ago we started feeding her plain rice and ground lamb in the hopes it was perhaps a food allergy. It seemed to help after a few days, but now today I see in between her toes is a little red (caught her licking.)
Could this be pollen allergies? Does this sound like a food allergy? I will take her to the vet in another week when I get paid, but am concerned about now that she is red between the toes.
She has a fenced in yard in a city with grass, trees and flowers; we live in Northern MN.
