Hi, I got a 8 year old Lhasa Apso named Cococa and for a long time he been itching and digging himself. He don’t have many or none fleas on him but he still does it. My vet says its allergies but I don’t know anybody got a Lhasa Apso dog at all that has this problem. I’m open to any ideas or suggestions at all.

Our Family Dog Is Always Itching Himself?

He’s always itching himself and it’s not flea-related nor do I think it’s allergies. We think that it’s something wrong with his skin, because he always has bad body odor no matter how much we bathe him. Also, he’s a Pembroke Welsh Corgi and we live where it’s hot and humid. Should we have a groomer shave some of his fur? Or would something else help him?
Thank you.

He is an 8 mo. old Nova Scotian Duck Tolling Retriever. We have given him various flea treatments (drops between shoulder blades, flea shampoo) and are pretty sure fleas are not the problem (our other dog and cat show no signs of fleas). In some areas he has small reddish welts (not sure if these are from him biting himself or whether he has an allergy). We have started adding Omega oils to his food and given him some other vitamens and he still persists with the scratching and biting. Help? He’s driving us nuts with constant scratching and hes biting off the hair on his butt…….

Took him to SPCA but we had no money so they couldn’t look at him, however we asked one of the ladies to possibly tell us something, she said he might have a flea allergy. Would this allergy cause his hair to fall out?
