Your poor dog is suffering every second that you delay getting it treated.

Don’t delay, get your dog treated immediately.

Question by barbiegirl14322: do dogs go into false pregnancy every time they’re in heat?
I just asked about my dog being in heat. when we got her, the breeder said she was at the end of heat. the false pregnancy last time lasted for a good 2 months. she told us that it was part of being in heat but i’m guessing not. my family doesn’t have enough money at the moment to get her fixed but we plan to in the near future. does she definately go into false pregnancy after heat, or is it only sometimes? Also, if she was producing ,milk when we got her, and it didn’t go away for about a month, would that definately be a false pregnancy or could it be someting else? we later found out that the person we got her from didn’t take much care of her because she had a food allergy and it was causing her to bald.
wow no need to call us irrasponsible… if you read a little closer, you would see that the dog was on ther verg of dying from a food allergy. That’s why we took her. If we didn’t take her, they were going to put her down because they said she was a terrible dog. People come here to ask questions, not to be called names or to be told that they don’t deserve a dog. if we wanted that, then we wouldn’t come here to ask for honest answers.
also, we can afford to pay for food for a 4 pound yorkie every week. But paying 300 dollars to get her fixed should be hard for any family of the middle class around this time of year. Especially a family with children and one in college.
when we got her, she was almost bald, and what little fur she did have left, was pure white. now that her hair is growing back, it’s coming in jet black. Also, she didn’t stop shaking at all and she bit at her dry skin and paws to the point where there were scabs on her skin. we brought her to the vet the same day we got her and they said that it was either a food allergy, or malnutrition. we put her on allergy free food and her hair is growing in like it should be.

Not all dogs do it, but if they’ve done it once they’re likely to do it again, each time.

Dog with red sore spots that turn into scabs?

Question by Erin G: Dog with red sore spots that turn into scabs?
My 1.5 year old lab has red sore spots that turn into scabs on his belly. He has had them for a while, but they never seemed serious or a problem. He had skin issues about a year ago when he was just a puppy. I put him on premium food and it went away, but he has always been a bit itchy I believe, and it is not fleas. I’m wondering if it’s allergies or if it’s serious that I need to go to the vet. Last time I took him to the vet she acted like I was stupid because I brought him in because he was itching a lot. She had asked me if I ever owned a dog, which I have when living with my parents. I’m a 21 year old college student and this is my first dog that is mine and I make all the decisions for. So I want to know if this is serious enough to go to the vet.
He is on Pro Plan Lamb & Rice I know it’s not the absolute best food, but the Lamb seems to be better for him than chicken or anything else

If you are sure that your dog is protected against fleas and their bites, there is a medication called Sulfadene made by Hartz that you can find at your supermarket in the pet aisle. It is for “hot spots”, and I used it for years on my dogs. I understand that some dogs are allergic; so do a test patch first.

Question by G: itchy red bumps on my skin, not poison ivy, oak or sumac. had it since i’ve moved into this new house.?
ok, back at the beginning of august my family and i moved into this house in a small city, and we havent stopped itching since. everyone is itching, even our dogs. my brother isn’t allergic to poison ivy, oak or sumac, so it cant be that. we don’t drink the water here because it’s very bad and has a color to it, and it’s slimy. when i get out of the shower my skin feels slimy, the people here before we moved in, werent clean but we scrubbed the place down, took out the carpet because of a mold problem and we don’t know where the itchiness can be coming from. at first i thought chiggars, then bedbugs, scabies, fungi, mold allergy, dog allergy, could be the slimy water we bathe in.. we’ve tried washing everything (clothes and bedsheets, floors, walls) and i’m still miserably itchy. i’ve tried just waiting it out, tried oatmeal soap, tried bathing in epsom salt, tried homemade soaps, tried soaking in viniger but this rash isn’t going away. we’re taking some otc antihistimines that help a little but i’d just like to find out what this is and get rid of it. it started as pimple looking bumbs on my arm, (i didn’t notice them till i had scratched one, which then spread to wherever else i scratched as a rash of bumbs.. at one point i even had it on my scalp. it’s gone down but even when i don’t scratch it flares up all over the place, mostly on my arms and legs. it’s weird cuz if someone else (or just something) scratches my then the rash pops up there too. i don’t know what to do, going to the doc would be ideal but i cant afford it. any help would be appreciated.

There are literally SO many possibilities that it is impossible (and dangerous) to even suggest anything online. Without physical examination it is impossible to come up with any potential culprits. I would have it checked out by your primary care physician.
