i have a 1yr&5mos. old labrador retriever. i notice that his skin is pinkish & itchy and he has red rashes inside his left ear. vet says that it’s due to meinge & he should avoid foods like beef, chicken etc. well what can you say about this. what will i do with my dog?
right now i am feeding him lamb&rice dried meal. what is the best food or diet that i could give my dog?
Why does my Supposedly labrador x Golden Retriver have a Curly tail?
Unlike most labrador or retriver she has a slight curl in her tail. My mum and stepdad brought her from a petstore sadly as they didn’t know any better at the time, I didn’t know either as i think i was 9 at the time, but have since learnt, Petstore a HORRIBLE place to buy a pet from, however parents still falsely believe that puppy at petstore come from loving family homes. Not True.99% of dogs at petstore are from PUPPY MILLS.
Yes we have a few issues Still chewing inappropiate item, mounting items, has a very odd thing with some dogs=like to try and bite them on the heel=Particular hates jack russell and german shepherd and she has few allergies such as Allergies to fleas, she get hot spot. She does occassion bite me for no reason. However she excellent on walks and friendly. However she super protective of her yard. She won’t let BIRDS in, if someone even sit on the fence she go barking mad, and get very defensive=Her hackles will go up and she actually sound like a Rottweiler and you’ll hear a growl in her bark!, we had attempted burgular trying to sneek over the backfence However my smart mutt notice him and quickly went into action. He decide she was TOO scary for him to continue into the backyard and he jumped off the fence and ran away.I saw the guy myself at 8.45am sunday a couple of month back.
However I love her to bits, No matter what i couldn’t give her up.She now 10year and 2month old.
Here are photos, unfortuantly they only look like she got a kink in her tail, her tail actual physical curled over her back slightly today!http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/…http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/…http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/…http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q248/…
Yes i know she look like a Labrador=Everyone says she look like a labrador. However we were told she was a Labrador x Golden Retriver, however for this mix she has an odd personality=she very much behaviour is like a Beagle x Cattle dog. She very scent orientated and if she gets out, she won’t come back-NO RECALL, she also tries to heard other dogs Like a cattle dog! She not worried about Ducks, Geese, even them HONKING at her! She go right up and sniff a rather calm male duck at the local lake-I think he was a former pet duck, dumped, he the only one at the lake with his colouring and his temperment seem to calm for a WILD DUCK.
He is a Mascovy Duck, he looks exactly like thishttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co…
He not fazed one bit by my dogs huge size!
She was NEVER raised with duck or geese and NEVER up until recently even seen them.
She also excellent with cats, yes I had a older cat when i had her as a puppy. However she doesn’t yet realise a cat scratch means GO WAY, she respond with a Play bowel. She also has quiteabit of white in her fur, you may not be able to see it in the photos though and when she is bathed, her tail almost goes a snow white colour!
I know petstore are BIG liers. So i’m wondering if she may have a flock guard in her bloodline such as Mareema Sheepdog, she was VERY LIGHT AND FLUFFY as a puppy. Mareemas also look very much like Labrador as a puppy. Also you can see she quite a large dog for her breed.
Also at the age of 10years she actually very energetic and still occassional runs on the walks
She really hasn’t slowed down much if at all, even though she does have arthritis in her rear legs. You just can’t slow the old girl down! She still get hyper and really excited and she a pain to catch for walks! Its a chase around the backyard, even though she does KNOW the command come, the food trick DOESN’T alway work. She normally pretty good once you catch her and get out the gate. However she does know sit, drop, lie down(lie down on her side), she also knows stay, but if you left the backgate open and forgot about and she saw something more interesting, she be out the gate like anything.

Is there any way to confirm my dog mixed heritage?
I will be adopting from the shelter/pound next dog i have!
I am pregnant and my dog’s hair fall is increasing my sinus. I keep sneezing in spite of getting the house cleaned twice daily. He does not have any allergies or flea problem. He eats chicken & rice, milk & eggs everyday and a little Royal Canine for Labs.
He bathes every sunday. So, help me understand why he sheds & how to control it please. Thanks
