“My husband and I reccently took in a cat. We think that she is pregnant. We noticed that she had some flea eggs and a couple of spots that she licked continously on her back, so we gave her a bath with Hertz 2-in-1 flea shampoo. I thought the spots were just a flea allergy. Since giving her a bath the spots have gotten worse. Why or what can this be? ” The cat doesn’t appear to have any discomfort she licks the same amount as before. I washed her face and let the shampoo sit on her (I’ve had cats before) My house has been treated for fleas and she is the first animal we have had. The shampoo was for cats. ANd I would rather treat her for fleas now than take chances of her kittens getting a bad case of them. I treated her for worms when she first showed up, even though we hadn’t seen any. The spots remind me of when a dog chews….but not as severe.

I have a 5 year old shih tzu who is an allergy baby,he eats Solid Gold dog food, which is sold only at specialty shops and health food stores for allergy dogs-it’s a really good quality food-only whole meats no by products etc. He has no fleas and is on a monthly flea pill. We recently moved and when we did he started licking his feet constantly,to the point where his whole foot will be soaking wet,he does this to all 4′s. He’s checked out at the Vet as being the picture of health-What could cause the foot issue? MAybe he’s been misdiagnosed?

My dog has recently been licking his butt until the area right above the hole is completely red and raw. He has also started sliding his butt across the carpet. He also chews and licks his paws constantly. I don’t know if these two things are related, but it is all he does when he’s not playing, eating, or sleeping. I have read about things that can cause this, but I know he doesn’t have fleas or ticks, and he goes on two walks a day and I play with him a lot so it would not be because he is bored. I have also changed his food to a really expensive natural brand, so it should not be food allergies. Has anyone experienced this with their dog and the reason was different than fleas, allergies, etc..? Thank You!

This has been diagnosed by vet. Definitely not fleas! Dog put on half a steroid tablet per day by vet. Regularly hoovering bungalow. Trying spraying with lavender water at moment. Will try Tea Tree Oil. Dog has undergone a thorough health check by the vet.
