she seems to be itching more than usual and the scabs can be picked off withouth showing an open sore nor does it bother her when we do this…she acts like she is not feeling well but will still play and jump around…she is missing a small spot of hair on her head where a scab was and maintains a good appetite…not sure what is going on here if it is a version of mange, allergies, fleas, or something else…can anyone help me out? should i be taking her to the vet? thanks

I felt a bump on my dog’s skin. I looked at it closely and discovered she had a flea, a tiny flea, the bump was her own swollen flesh…
I got rid of that flea, and days later she’s still swollen at the bite site.
I found other fleas on her yesterday, and another one had a swollen lump underneath it too.
Anyone know what this is and if it’s dangerous, or just an allergy that will go away on it’s own?

I saw a flea on my dog a couple of months ago, so we started her on Advantage. And since have not seen any fleas, or signs of them.
My dog swims a lot. And I have noticed she has a rash on her belly, where there was never a lot of hair to begin with. But also in random places on her coat. There are dime sized bald patches, that either have a little flat bump which has no puss, but is just red. She isnt really itching very much, so I dont believe they are itchy.
We did start her on a new food about a month ago. And I started using a different cleaner to clean my house.
The main areas that seem to been infected are her belly..and armpits. But has random ones on her body. I read that if it was a flea bite allergy it would be more on her hindquarters and base of her tail. But its not.
I think its something else. I have a vet’s appointment for Monday, but is there anything I can do at home for her? Bathe her anything that is safe?

She is currently on frontline and sentinel, so I don’t think it is fleas, can it be an allergy or other mite? Or what?
