Question by happy2binsc: What is the best allergy medicine for dogs? My dog bites her feet so much they have turned brown.?
She has gotten this way in the past 4 or 5 months. I give her benedryl and used special shampoos and changed food. I have read about many different kinds of allegy pills for dogs and they all say they are good. Any suggestions on a good one would be helpful.

The absolute best thing for allergies, for people or dogs, is honey made naturally in your area. Honey from your area will have the same thing in it that is causing your allergies but will fight them (fight poison with poison).
There is probably a “bee farmer” somewhere near you. Go buy some and give it a try. Just put a spoonfull in with your dogs food and stir it up.

Question by Wake N Bake Girl: How do you get small dogs to eat medicine and what helps with allergies?
I just adopted this little chihuahua out of a really horrible shelter, and he’s in really bad shape. He’s extremely skinny and seems to have a skin condition of some sort. The vet says its allergies, but underneath his arms his irritation seems to also be from the harness they made him wear 24/7. he has the rash on his neck as well. the vet said to give him fish oil [which he loves], and then benedryl to help with the itching. I didnt want to give him any benedryl, but he seems to be itchin up a storm [a snow storm lol], so i went out and bought some, but he wont take it. giving him only one half ata time of course, i tried putting it in bread, but he wasnt fooled. i tried crushing it up and putting it in bread…no dice. any ideas? hes kind of a picky eater =\
thanks for all your help guys! my vet told me to give cholo half of a 25 mg pill once a day until the fish oil starts doing its job and he’s not so itchy. im sure whatever they were feeding him in that shelter wasnt nearly as good as what im giving him now because his coat already seems to be looking better. he gladly ate my laced cheese treat, so thats for all the ideas. once he gets the hang of that, im sure i’ll have the move on to peanut butter ;] thanks all

you might have better luck with the liquid and use a syringe to give it to him. did you try the flavored tablets? my little one likes the grape flavored benadryl. otherwise you will have to pill him.

www.encognitive.com Natural Medicine Leads to Real Cures In contrast, the philosophy of natural medicine holds that a weakened immune system (and along with other weakened bodily systems) is the reason foreign invaders can thrive, producing symptoms and diseases. Most of us are taught that we need to go to medical doctors when we get sick. What we aren’t taught is that the real doctor is already within us as the innate wisdom of the body. This is the difference between conventional allopathic systems and natural holistic medicine systems. The philosophy of natural medicine is that, given the right conditions, the body will heal itself. Whereas the allopathic model tries to control defective body systems through drug intervention, or kill foreign invaders with antibiotics, natural medicine rarely includes toxic agents. Instead, herbs, homeopathic remedies and other non-invasive therapies are used. These techniques harmoniously help facilitate the repair and strengthening of bodily systems (especially the immune system, which can then properly fight foreign invaders), or help to destroy offending pathogens without toxic side effects. The goal of natural medicine is to figure out why systems have weakened and then repair them, which results in healing. Allopathic Medicine—Symptom/Disease Management The allopathic medical philosophy taught at most medical schools, and practiced by the majority of medical doctors, relies on the concept of identifying diseases or symptoms, and
