Is a flea allergy for dogs curable?? We have her on advantage, and plenty of antiboiotics for her skin. . so she’s comfortable now. I was just wondering if it was curable so I don’t have to put her on meds anymore. Thanks!
O.k., here’s the 411 on my dog. She has a severe skin allergy to fleas, basically, if one flea bites her, she swells up and stuff. We have her currently on antibiotics and we use advantage, and we make sure to keep that on her regularly.
Here’s the problem I’m having. Apparently, the fleas are botheren her ears. She won’t stop flappen her ears! And the fact of the matter is she did the flapping so much it broke a blood vessel. Just so you guys are aware THE FLAPPING IS NOT DUE TO EAR MITES, OR ANY TYPE OF BUG IN THE EAR. It is due to her flea allergy. I had problem with allergies in two dogs. I have been to 3 different vets-no solution. used steriods, dips, allergen-free diets, and otc antihistamines. Sometimes when I switch foods I seem to get some short term relief after a week or so-but allergies return before I finish the bag (2-3 weeks). foods like; Calif.Nat, canadae, Natural bal…top rated foods-no junk. Otc antihistamines seem to help a little, tavest works best.

no known trauma
diet dry food only, listed above–for about 6 years she had cheaper dog food like what you get from grocer.
Behav-not scared of anything, no nerve prob.
had allergies all her life
she was a rescue from a vets office.
2nd dog
mixed , maybe some lab
1 1/2 year old female spayed
not over wt
trauma-possible- partially deaf, dramatic head tilt that has improver with age.
diet-best available dry food scince a pup
had allergies 6 mo
I have a doberman pincer who (after I have fed him) always seems to be itchy after I feed him. Chewing on himself and the lot.
I have heard that some pet foods cause this problem, and Im guessing that my dog has these allergies from the dog food that I am feeding him. Im using Pedigree wet and dry adult dog food.
I want my buddy to not itch anymore after feeding him!! (I love him so much)
Can you recommend a dog food that will help him not be allergic to it?
