Vet says its allergies. She scratches herself and then it turns into a staph infection on her skin. Sometimes it seems that she gets little skin infections without even over-scratching. She doesnt have fleas.
Last night we took her to the vet because the entire left side of her face from under her ear down to her chin was wet, and through her fur I could see that the skin was just raw. Bright pink/red and draining. The doc said something about a “hot spot” and that its still allergies, and gave her antibiotics. It was so bad that they had to shave the fur and now she just sits with her head tilted because it hurts for even her ear to touch it. She also had some eye drainage, wont play or eat a lot.
Theres another dog in the house (my sister’s dog), and they play-fight very rough. Its a yellow lab puppy (almost the size of my golden) thats out of control, and they bite and scratch. The vet said no, but is it possible that she got this from playing so rough?
She never did any testing… she just looks at it and says “yeah thats what it looks like”. Im not saying that shes definitely wrong, but I just want some reassurance before I get her in for a 2nd opinion.

I’m the owner of a lovable, friendly, but slobbery mutt. he is always around the family, but On christmas eve, we’re having friends and family come over for dinner and one of my nieces has showed skin allergy symptoms to dog saliva, so the family hass requested that we keep the dog in the garage that night. What can I do to keep my doggie occupied while in my dog-proofed garage for 4-5 hours? My plan so FAR: I will be taking him out every hour for a potty break, he’ll have access to food and water, and i will take him for an hour long walk/jog beforehand to calm him down and tire him out. What else can I do to keep him occupied? What are some healthy treats that last a long time?

Hi Everyone! I have four dogs. 1 Purebred Sheltie. 42 pounds. And he is 8 1/2 years old. 1 Purebred Yorkie 5 pounds And is 1 year old. 1 Purebred Shihtzu 4 years old. 13 pounds. 1 Purebred Poodle 4 years old. 5 1/2 pounds. Every dog is a good weight. They are all healthy. They don’t have allergies or stomach problems or anything like that. They have been fed Hill’s Science Diet for most of their life. We just feed the regular food. Nothing for allergies or sensitive stomachs, or anything like that. We have fed this food for most of their lives. We fed it to them because our Vet’s recomended it. Anyways I now know after doing some research that Science Diet is not a good dog food after all. So I’ve been doing research on other Dog Foods to see which one is the best. Please people READ this! - Ok that’s all of them! I know their is a ton of them! I have done some research on them, enough to know that they are good. But I need to do furthur researchand narrow it down to 1 dog food. These were NOT in any specific order. I listed them in. I just wrote them down. I am willing to pay any price. I want people to pick out the Dog Food(s) that they think is best. And give a few reasons why they think that it is good. And pick out a few Dog Foods that you don’t think is good and a few reasons why. And if you don’t think any of the Dog Foods that I’ve listed our good. Then say a few reasons why. And give the name of Dog Food that you think is good and why you think that. Well that’s everything! Please anwser this question! I will give you 10 points!
Also here is a website. If you have your own Dog Food how does it rate on this website? Also the ones that I’ve listed how do they rate and what does it say about them? (The ones you picked of courese) 6 stars is the best Dog Food. 5 Stars is good Dog Food. 4 stars is Ok dog food. And it just goes down from their. Their is a search box where you just type the name of your Dog Food in. Here is the site. http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/
That’s the site. And please answer all of my many questions! Sorry about all of them. Will give 10 points!

Hello everyone!
I have a 3 year old Maltese and I recently took her to
a dog spa for a haircut (i trust this place because she’s
gone there around 5-6 times now). Today when i got home
from class I noticed that she was itching a lot and licking
her paws and so on. I figured it was an itch so I brushed
her hair, in the process I noticed that she had open wounds
and others seemed like healed cuts. I started getting worried
and figured that the salon had something to do about it, but
my dog kept on scratching. I looked everywhere online and
the only answer I could find was ticks or fleas. I checked for
both, it got so bad I had to bathe my dog and I checked her again.
Later on I noticed that she’s the one hurting herself and biting
into her own skin. She’s done it all over her paws and in other
body places she can reach. I’m really worried as to why she’s doing
this. I had to bandage her feet and paws to keep her from biting
and wounding herself. Anyone have any answers for me?
Besides fleas, or anything.
I know it can be allergies but as far as I know
my dog is not allergic to anything.
Thanks for your help!
Best answer too.

I have a 5 year old Pekingese with allergies. She has been tested and is allergic to most things human are allergic to plus some chemicals found in flea and tick shampoos. Is there any food good for dogs with allergies that I don’t know about? My Vet recommended Hills ZD Ultra, she likes it but I’m wondering if there is anything else out there that would be good for her I keep the allergies under control with Benadryl but I noticed that it gets better and at other times like with this heat she cratches a lot more, what I’m I missing? Also, I rescued a Kitten from my yard. When the whole family was together I was feeding them regular kitten food from Publix not that I don’t care but I feed around 10 cats in the vecinity so to get brand food for all gets expensive. Now that I kept him, he’s 6 months now, what is the best food to give him? If I start taking good care of him now it will save me a lot in the future. I also have a poodle, 14, diabetic and blind on insuline but doing well.
