I have really sensitive skin, and whenever I touch dog it turns red above my hands(It’slike tiny blisters). And I have eczema, but not in a serious form.
I heard there are allergies shots, but I’ve haven’t heard from anyone how effective and how expensive they are…( I doubt they even have them in my country:X)
So, i would be grateful to anyone who tries to give me some useful information:D

We’ve been under the impression that our dog has contact skin allergies. He’ll lick at his stomach, get sores on it, and then we take him to the vet and get a steroid shot. The sores clear up for about two months.

For a host of reasons, including that he only licks when we aren’t home, we’re starting to think that he doesn’t have allergies at all but that he’s licking and causing these sores because he’s bored when we’re gone. If this is the case, though, would the steroid shots still have made a difference?

I will ask the vet about this as well, so no need to recommend that. But my vet isn’t in today, and I was curious now.
I don’t think I was very clear with my question, I’m sorry. The steroid shots helped my dog’s skin. Did the shots treat the cause (allergies) or the skin infections?

There are no “shots” for fleas that I know of. Your DIL needs to give you the EXACT NAME and manufacturer’s name of the product, so you can contact them and ask THEM what’s in their product.
There’s no way WE can tell you since we don’t know the product.
YOu also need to show this to your doctor and discuss it… not with the helpful, but not as fully educated masses at YA. -!-
