They are on his side and mostly on his back. They are “clustered” maybe 6-8. He scratches them and they bleed. I have given him medicated baths, put anti-biotic cream, hydrocortizone cream, which brings some relief but they dont go away. Has anyone had this happen to their dog?
I have changed his dog food thinking it may be an allergy. He comes back in the house like that when he goes out to use the bathroom or just “hang out” in the yard. He doesnt get it from being in the house, only when he comes back in from outside. It isn’t ticks or fleas. If they were ticks I would see them would’t I and be able to “pull them off”? And fleas, I would be able to see them. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

Ok. Another dog question. I suppose I really love my dog this morning enough to ask questions about him.
So he’s a 10yr old american cockerspaniel. I have had him since he was a puppy. In the past month or so something strange has developed. He had what are bumps or grooves appear all along his spine and his skin has really dried. the bumps have become so irritating to him that he has scratched and scratched (as dogs do) and some of them have broken or scabbed over. His skin has become really dry.
I thought perhaps at first they were insect bites, but the seem too large to be and I checked but no fleas.
Then I thought perhaps that it was something from his dog-sitters. That maybe they had been bathing him with human shampoo (can that do that?). But he hasn’t been there in a couple of weeks and he still has the problem.
I went by the vets a couple of days ago and wanted to get a better shampoo/conditioner for him and they stated that it could be perhaps allergies. We didn’t stay for a check-up or anything though (time and money being factors). Is it allergies?
Anyhow I wanted to know if anyone else has had similar situations with their dogs and can know off-hand what they might be associated with.

They have been doing this for a few weeks. I put flea meds on them this last week, and it hasn’t stopped them from scratching. They have been on the same food for atleast 4 months. Could they BOTH have allergies all of a sudden? They don’t have any visible rashes or redness yet

I have a chihuahua/terrier and he has rash on his skin, is losing a lot of hair (idk if its the hot summer that makes them shed like crazy or what), also he sneezes a lot.
I am feeding him science diet. But since it is so expensive here in Hawaii I would like to switch to something a bit better than science diet.
Im afraid he may have a food allergy though but not sure what ingredient he may be allergic too?
any ideas, tips would be helpful too.
