Question by Alexzandra P: My puppy has thrown up 3 times in the past week is this normal? Is it a vet issue?
He is 6 months old, The first time he threw up was last Wednesday it was white and mushy like oatmeal. next time was friday we were out all day long it was hot and i had to put him in his carrier while we were on the bus he threw up in the carrier it looked like ground dog food with water in it, next time was this morning it was clearish yellow and foamy. Each time he threw up he did not seem sick after he plays eats drink poops pees as usual except for this morning when he looked sad until I gave him a cool bath then he ate drank and played he has been fine since It was also very hot today. he has been dewormed not on any meds and overall a very active happy loving puppy…should i be worried or is it a heat allergy, motion sickness or something simple like that?

Question by JuiCii: 5 yr. Old Beagle won’t eat 1 week after being neutered! HELP!?
I adopted a 5yr old Beagle from the shelter who is overweight. He weighed 51 pounds, but looking at him he has lost some weight in the week that I’ve had him. He was neutered the day I got him (3/1/2011) and has not had a bowel movement since I brought him home. He hasn’t really eaten except for yesterday he nibbled on some rib gristles (Spell check :-P ). He refuses to eat hard dog food at all. I don’t know what to do. The vet said he won’t have a bowel movement until he eats but he didn’t tell me why he won’t eat or what to do to get him to eat. He also has severe allergies and I don’t know what to do. HELP! I’m looking for a new vet, but any ideas are appreciated!
Okay thanks for the answers, let me clarify that he ate the meat off of the gristle and I did tell my mom that she was not to give him anymore people food. I spoke with a vet my grandma uses and he said bring him in. He checked him out and said the site was fine, his temp was normal, and him losing weight was a good thing as long as it wasn’t too fast. He has had a bowel movement and he said to mix plain white rice and ground beef and keep it bland to get him to start eating again and to help with painful stools for the next 3 days then he gave me some soft dog food. He said he may not eat hard dog food because the previous owners fed him junk which is how he got to be 51 pounds. He is already doing a lot better. OMG I am so happy. Thanks guys!

You need to get him to a vet. And it sounds like your vet is terrible. Find a new vet a.s.a.p!!!

i think you’ve pretty much got everything covered do your dogs have any special toys that they like or blankets??? you might consider bringing them. you might consider packing more jeans and shorts though in case there are no laundry facilities around. OH 2 things to add BUG SPRAY AND SUNSCREEN!!!! and flip flops and sneakers

What do you think? Answer below!

Well i have a shih tzu that gets spots like that just above her tail i use a product call for hot spots. Its a med for dogs who get hot spots and other things. it works for me hope it works for you. Also if he has allergy you might look at whats new around the house it might be that mine gets them when we changed his food. good luck

Question by crystal: 14 week old puppy pooping in the crate at night and all over house?
My neighbor has a 14 week old female american pit bull terrier puppy that pees and poops all over her house and poops in her crate.
Please read ALL the info before responding.
Her crate is a small crate typically used for a cat so that there is not extra room for her to poop and she still does.
She will NOT yet walk on her leash, she stubbornly sits there and would rather be dragged than walked.Trust me I tried to help my neighbor with this to no avail. So walking her before bed to get things moving right now is not going to work.
She eats at 4pm and has nothing later than that.
She puts the pup in the yard for an hour to two before bed.
As far as discipline,I take the puppy once or twice a week and when she does pee or poop I shout a firm no and place her in the yard immediately.
Do you think that she may have a behavior problem?
I was thinking that she may have a food allergy that is causing her to have these issues(it is not always diarrhea, sometimes it’s hard) my neighbor feeds her Pedigree dog food,I know that she should be on puppy food but my neighbor does not want to buy 2 foods for her 2 dogs.
Please don’t be rude for it is not my dog and there is nothing I can do as far as forcing my neighbor to change her food.
She says that she brought her to the vet and they said that she’s fine.
Another thing, whether she’s at her owner’s house or visiting my home, there is another dog who you would think she would follow the lead from or learn from and she still does not.
I never said anything about the breed of my neighbor’s other dog or my dog.
The breeds have no baring on the situation.

It’s only 14 weeks old, if it’s only at night then maybe she just can’t hold on that long. Just put some paper down; when she goes on that then praise her loads, and move on to praising her loads when she goes in the garden. As she gets a bit older she’ll get the hang of it. Bt really your neighbour wants to get something a bit bigger than a cat crate; she should be able to get up, walk around and lie outstretched in it, or it could interfere with her development,
