I have checked my dogs frequently and they do not have any fleas or flea residue. My one dog is 6 months and the other is 2 years. I have bathed them with 3 types of shampoo and then just with water. 1 of the shampoos had oatmeal to it. They really have never itched until last weekend. They got into poison ivy b/c my fiance and I got it from them. They also where swimming in a small lake and again at the Lake of the Ozarks. We went swimming with them at the Lake of the Ozarks and did not have any problems on our own skin but at the smaller lake they went in without us. It slowly has gotten worse and of course it is a weekend and the best times to go to the vet around here is during the week or vet er on weekends. What can I do in the meantime to relieve or stop the itching? What can it be? Can they get poison ivy themselves? Also they have been eating the same food for a long time now so i don’t thinks its a food allergy unless they just developed it… I feed them all natural nutro.

Englewood Animal Health Center
To Whom it may concern;
Mrs Moulton brought in a newly purchased Old English Sheepdog, Luna 11/13/2008. Luna’s general condition for such a young dog was poor. Her integument was very matted, crusted with scabs on the head and dorsum. Fleas and ticks were observed on her coat and skin.
The perineal region was stained with urine.
On examination of the oral cavity this young dog of 11 months showed significate tartar build up and foetor ex ore.
On her aural examination both ears were very waxy. Cytology was preformed and Malassezia was identified microscopically.
Following diagnoses for Luna at this exam:
Peridontal disease (grade 2), flea allergy dematitis, and Otitis externa with Malassezia infection. The diagnoses found and physical exam indicate that Luna was living under inappropriate conditions bordering on animal abuse.
Sincerely D Brink
DVM

What Causes A Dog To Bleed With No Visible Wound?

My mother was bathing her 11 year old New England Sheep Dog who has a flea infestation and allergy when she noticed blood rolling off her dogs hind quarters. Shes now worried whats wrong with her dog. There is no money at all right now for a vet. She needs to know what can cause a dog to bleed with no visible wound?

What Is The Deal With My Dog Itching And Eye Goo?

I have taken him to two different vets now, and I feel like they are just trying to get me to spend more money. He eats organic food, has no fleas. Gets no treats. I spent 600.00 so far and can’t do it anymore. I am pretty sure from what I’ve read that he has an allergy to something in the air. Can anyone recommend anything? Constant scratching and biting. Has eye boogers all the time. Smells bad, and has ear infections all the time.
