I’ve changed her food to a good, high-quality lamb and rice meal. She takes 3 benedryl pills daily. I’ve tried anti-itch creams, oatmeal soaps, fungiside sprays, multi-purpose creams and jels. But nothing seems to help. She gets a dose of Advantix every month and has for the last 2 years so it’s not a reaction to it. The vet said it’s a heat rash but she spends the whole day inside in the air conditioning and laying in front of a fan; it’s not a heat rash! We’ve ruled out ringworm, mange, hot spots, mites, allergies and because nothing has changed the vet didn’t think it was stress or boredom. What more can I do? She’s miserable!

I have three dogs and have found out recently that one has severe food allergies. After running tests and doing a lot of research we finally decided to put him and my other dogs on a vegetarian formula dry dog food. I have always mixed avocado into their dry food (don’t worry, my vet ok’d this!) and they all seem to like it. My dog with allergies loves the new food, but my other two don’t want anything to do with it. One will eat just avocado’s and the other won’t eat either now. It has only been a day and a half, should I wait them out or consider feeding something different? I hate the thought of feeding my dogs two different dog foods! Any advice?

Hi, I have small chihuahuas and am currently feeding them on burns minibites throughout the day and a small amount of pedigree favourites for small dogs (pouches) once a day.
The problem I have is that, after giving the meat, one of the dogs begins to shake and i am sure this is an allergy, i have tried many different dog foods and she begins to shake after each one. I also have another dog whose fur has become dry and fluffy.
As far as I was aware burns is one of the best for relieving allergies, but my OH wont allow the dogs to just eat the biscuits as he thinks the tinned meat is important.
My question is, is there anything else, either shop bought or easily home-made, that I can give them instead that will relieve this problem.
Also does anyone think the burns food could be causing the skin allergies of my second dog or have you had problems wth burns foods in the past?
Thank you in advance for your help :)
