Question by 2 M?s??? M???s~o?? ?????? ??n?r: Bald spot coming back on my dog after four years?
Hello DS, I’m aware of what time it is, I just need to make this quick.
Earlier tonight I was brushing my dog with an average brush then a flea comb. After a little over half an hour I had a pile of shed hair bigger then my hand. That’s normal for her, she’s a beagle/Italian greyhound mix, she sheds a lot every year. What concerned me was that it had numerous skin flakes in it. She has dandruff, but it hasn’t gotten this bad.
Four years ago she had an allergic reaction to something, and got a HUGE bold spot on her thigh, which went away after we applied something (I don’t remember what) the vet gave us. Today I was looking at her and it’s coming back. I thought it was just the food, (back then it was Gravy Train.. -.-) until it came back today. Now she gets TOTW Wetlands formula and we alternate between that and the High Prairie.

She’s only allergic to grains (not poultry or beef or any meat), except for rice and she never even gets that. And my other dog gets the exact same thing and his skin is perfect, and they have about the same allergies.
We’re taking her to the vet Wednesday, and we’re taking the handful of fur I combed so they can have a look, but I was wondering if anyone may know what it was already or they’ve had something reoccurring like this before.
Thanks!

Question by Lane: Having problem with my 3 1/2 years of Rottweiler.?
Having problem with my 3 1/2 years of Rottweiler.
He goes to the vet on time ever since he was a puppy and he very well taken care of , my wife ,daughter and my self love our dog balue.
the vet they said he probably pulled a muscle in his neck, moms been sneaking him aspirins in his food but he caught on to her act and stopped eating the extra morning treats. she also put his food up on a stool because the vet said that big dogs food isn’t supposed to be on the floor because they suck up too much extra air so that’s probably why he has been hacking and coughing so much. so he is doing better. we found out he is also 5 pounds overweight.
the vet found out balue has allergies and walks funny on his paws which might be why he limps. he also said 4 years is old for a Rottweiler. so that not too good of news. made mom upset. crazy brought her dog as always ha. he is a good boy though. although he has been hacking all over the house poor thing, I don’t think he got too much sleep the other night we woke up and there was spit up spots all over the carpet from him coughing so hard he gagged :
Balue is sweet Rott we had never had any problem with him up till a few weeks ago.
We have been to two vet and really have not come up with a good plan.

Question by moturkeyh: my dogs have been eating canidae dog brand for years, just noticed one of my dogs constantly itching.?
There’s some dry skin around her elbow area, parts of her tail…hair is missing, just dry skin. Chewing around her paws and anal gland issues that she’s never had before. I think it’s food allergies. I don’t have lots of $ to figure out what it is exactly the problem is. Where do I start? I know the Canidae that she’s eating has the best products in it, do I go to lamb/rice combo? What other brands should I consider? If I do switch foods, what time frame should I expect to see any differences? Need advice!

try old mother hubbard… you really need to take her to the vet because she could have mange which is not related to food and is from a mite… and very bad and can spread to your other dogs.
